{ scenario 1 }
instead of dying from the halloween attack, james and lily were put in a magical coma. 16 years later, after harry defeated voldemort, they showed signs of waking up. one day, the potter siblings get a letter in the mail telling them that their parents might wake up that day, october 31st, 1998, exactly 17 years after the attack. they rush to saint mungos, and go into their parents room before they wake up...
