Hey everyone, I am so excited to finally share info about my Star Wars fanfic. So this is a rewrite of Episode 8 and I had this in my mind even before my Spider-Man fanfic that is available to read now and is ongoing...
I am not a fan of the original movie and I am sure the majority also shares the same opinion. I have completely changed the story in this and have put more emphasis on the OG characters which the movie should have done itself, and the length of the story will not be obeying the movie length as the way the story is structured is very different and unique way never done in a Star Wars story before so this is going to be pretty long. I did not want to do a 'The Force Awakens' rewrite as I liked that movie and it was a great opening to a trilogy before everything went down, instead let me mention a few retcons in 'The Force Awakens' that will fit my narrative in the story
So the following changes in 'The Force Awakens are:-
1. In this fanfic the events of The Force Awakens will happen 37 years after the events Return of the Jedi that is in 41 ABY
2. Kylo Ren's face won't be revealed and his mask will be on throughout the movie. His index finger, middle finger and thumb of his right hand are robotic and his lightsaber has welding marks, especially at the part where the Kyber Crystal is located
3. Han Solo is alive and won't be killed in this version, when Han confronts Kylo Ren in Starkiller base Chewbacca opened fire before Kylo could do anything to Han
4. Rey won't be able to use the force at the climax cause 'that's not how the force works', in this version she caught the Skywalker lightsaber mid-air when Kylo pulled it towards him with the force, and also she will barely be able to fight Kylo properly as he is way more powerful but she and Finn are saved by the Millennium Falcon
5. When Rey goes to meet Luke she, Chewbacca, and Han go along. Finn also joins as he regains conscious and also feels less pain from his injuries
6. Rey is an orphan scavenger who is a self-trained fighter, her skills are enough to hold her own in the galaxy but not in front of a force user. She would be a newborn baby when she is brought to Jakku and not have any memory of any parent or guardian
7. R2-D2 will not wake up at the end, he is still powered down and the resistance completes the map by plugging him into the Millennium Falcon systems. With hopes to revive him Rey brings him to Ahch-To
So whatever I mentioned here are the things you must remember for this rewrite. Now when it comes to the cast the OG and sequel characters are intact along with a few additional characters
