☁️Facts☁️
• Native to Indonesia Island of Sumatra
• Sumatran tigers are the smallest tigers
• They hunt fish, monkeys, wild boar, tapirs, deer, and many other species.
• They hunt at night and make one large kill weekly
• The fastest they run is 40 mph but only in small bursts
• Females are pregnant for around 100 days till they give birth
• A litter can consist of 1-6 cubs
• Cubs stay with their mothers for about 2 years
• The biggest threats posing Sumatran Tigers are habitat loss and poaching
• A reason for poaching is for their bones to make tiger bone wine. It is believed that it will impart the characteristics of the tiger to the drinker.
• Many are protected in national parks
• Are great swimmers and have webbing on their paws
• Sleep for 18-20 hours a day
