Chapter 24: End Of The Mission

The demon general Belphegor knew from the expression of Lilia that he wouldn't be living for much longer.

'Zodiac can you hear me?'

Zodiac who was still trapped in the  Ice prison raised his head in surprise from hearing his master's voice in his head.

'I'm using an inter-trasmission spell to connect with you at this moment. This is to allow me to be able to talk with you telepathically' Belphegor thought in his mind

'I see master. What do we do about this situation?' Zodiac asked in his mind

'That human girl is someone whom the demon realm cannot provoke. She is on par with our demon king' Belphegor explained in his mind

'Really? Master! This is a terrible news!' Zodiac exclaimed in his mind

'We don't have much time left. I will use all my remaining power to free you. Zodiac! I want you to quickly use your teleportation spell and return to the demon realm to inform the demon king about this human named Lilia' Belphegor explained in his mind

'I understand master. I will do my best to escape' Zodiac thought with determination.

Lilia POV

I watched the Demon General Belphegor without any emotion on my face.

During our fight together, I realized just what kind of monster I've become. None of his attacks were able to injure me at all. I even deliberately let myself be hit with his ultimate magic, but it did nothing to me. This made me realize that perhaps only a deity can harm me in this world.

"I hope you have said your final prayer to whatever deity you believe in because you are going to die soon"

I can feel Dora blushing besides me. I guess she has never actually seen me acting ruthlessly to someone. What I don't get is why she is blushing though! Is she secretly an S and is hiding it? Whatever the reason, her having her finger in her mouth while watching me with that blush is doing something to me in a good way.

Belphegor looked at me and smirked which sent a bad feeling in my heart "I admit that I am not your opponent, but I won't die without accomplishing my mission"

I saw Belphegor releasing all his pent up magic for a final desperate attack. I don't know what he is planning, but I won't give him a chance to use it.

"Sword wave!"

I slashed my heavy sword at him sending a red magic wave at Belphegor at a fast speed.

Belphegor being slower than my attack had no way of avoiding my attack, but instead of making an attempt to dodge or block my sword wave, he sent out a massive fire spell to his side. My sword wave severed Belphegor's head and turned his body to dust in an instant, but his desperate fire spell impacted on something which shocked me.

I along with Dora and Jeanne look and saw that the demon Duke Zodiac who should be trapped in Dora's Ice prison was free.

Zodiac not wasting time began to cast his teleportation spell as fast as he could.

"You want to escape? Wishful thinking!"

I flicked my finger in his direction at a speed beyond lightning. My finger flick sent out a powerful shockwave which instantly impacted with where Zodiac was destroying the ground and walls of the room.

When the dust settled down, the demon Duke Zodiac was nowhere to be seen. The B ranks at the scene thought that he was dead but I along with Dora and the red haired lady knew better. After all, they was no pieces of his body in the place he was before which means that he survived.
