Chapter 3. ' Its already too late'

The team had all arrived at the place where the car was parked. Slowly they got out of their cars and saw it was abandoned on a dusty road. All 4 went closer to the car as they heard muffled screams.

' HELP! HELP! ' a young girl shrieked and it sounded like she had something in her mouth preventing her from speaking.

Hailey saw that there was a girl in the back seat tied, bruised. She slowly opened the back door alerting the team that there was someone here.

' hey hey sweetie can you let me help you' Hailey asked quietly whilst Ruzek Called for an ambulance. The girl nodded. Hailey removed the gag from her mouth.

' please don't hurt me, please don't' the girls eyes were calling fear, like she was about to die.

' I'm not going to do anything, I'm detective Upton with the  Chicago police and I'm here to help you okay' Upton shown her badge. the girl looked around to see other men around the car.

' those are my partners they will do no harm to you, we have called an ambulance for you' the men watched as Hailey tried to confront the women.

After a few minutes the ambulance came, Brett and Shay made their way to the car where they could see the girl dangling off and talking to a detective.

' hi we're going to take you to the hospital will you take our hand' Brett asked carefully seeing how terrified she was. The girl looked at Upton and Hailey nodded that it was safe.

The girls had taken the girl into the hospital for a check out. Ruzek and Atwater went to check on the girl whilst Upton and Halstead made their way into the district informing their Sergant of what they found most importantly who.

' hey Kim, what are you doing here?' Will asked his brothers colleague.

' had to drop Erin off home, she's not well. I'm just going to grab her medicines and I'll be back' he gave her a nod and left. Will Halstead made his way into the room seeing Erin with her eyes closed and head laid back resting on the couch.

' okay we found a girl behind the car we were tracking she looked about 20, Ruzek and Atwater are at the hospital trying to get updates' Hank voight and the rest of the team nodded, whilst jay looked around to see if she was there and had wasn't. Was she gone already? Without a goodbye? She wouldn't have left because he knew how much she would like to save the girl. But where was she? Then he saw burgess making her way upstairs and quickly heading into voight office shutting the door.

' how you feeling?' Will Came from behind and sat down beside her.

' besides from a head ache perfect' she said still smiling, she opened her eyes to find Will Halstead sitting next to her.

The red head gave her a side hug and a kiss on the forehead, he had always seen her as his sister. No matter what the relationship was between her and his brother.

' well what do you expect since you landed this morning then went straight into work what the hell Erin!' Wills protective mode came on.

' calm down will you. I just forgot to have my medicine this morning you weirdo'  she whacked him on his arm as he was just over reacting.

' Erin you have to take care of yourself, I said to you that the only reason your coming baxk is helping with the case and then into the hospital where you need to be, you could have waited just atleast a day or two until you went into work or atleast have your medicines on Time or maybe just don't go work at all!' To be honest will was right, but she needed to go. She had to.   Erin didn't want to relive the experience she has been in these past few months.

' I know, I shouldn't have but I had to you know but.... I saw jay today' Will knew this would be hard on her, on jay. But especially her.

' and how did that go?' He asked being genuine and his voice laced with concern.

' it was ... hard you know. we haven't spoken, I saw him  after so long and I saw the hurt in his eyes. And you know what I wanted to do is give him a big massive hug, tell him everything' Erin Lindsey put her head in her hand shaking her head.

' I know. You said yourself you didn't want to tell him but I'm still telling you tell him Erin before it's too late' as he placed his hand on her shoulder and Erin knew what he was referring to.

' it already is ' she whispered with a slight chuckle.
