What happened to us?

CHAPTER 25

The next day as promised teju took karan for dinner. They had a gala time together. Both of them were trying to adjust, keeping their disparities aside and making new memories though as friends this time. Teju wanted to ask him so many things why he let her go that easily, why he never once tried to reach out to her and where did she stand in his life 3 years back. She however decided to silence her thoughts and enjoy the moment. Karan on the other hand didn't have the courage to ask her out again. He thought he will win over her as a friend first, gradually gain her confidence and reign his position again in her life

Teju: are you coming for ekta maam's party? All of the industry people are invited

Karan: ummm. I don't think so. In fact I don't have the guts to. I have done enough damage

Teju: you should attend it. It will be like a fresh start you know

Karan: what fresh start. I told you earlier I m quitting

Teju: ya I m aware about that but at least meet some industry friends of yours before bidding adieu  and it will be treat for your fans as well in your new attire. The hot Karan kundrra is back. Let them also feel blessed na and starts laughing

Karan: silly....
I don't have much friends left in this industry except for only few. And ya I will think about it.. By the way are you coming?

Teju: I have to. She has done so much for me. If it would have been other events I would have obviously made an excuse to miss it but it's her birthday after all. So ya I will be going. Beside I will be meeting my friends after  eternity

Karan: ada, aneri, amruta and all na?

Teju: ya and also shivin, namish, rohit and varun

Karan: yeah right! How can I forget them  and made an annoyed face (he was always possessive about her and didn't like her mentioning about her male friends)

Teju: I think it's too much food and vine for the day. We should head back

Karan: I will drop you

Teju: thanks but ajmal bhai is waiting

Karan: ajmal bhai can go alone. I will take you home. Let me do the coutesy  please ma'am

Teju: but

Karan: please

Teju: okay fine

They drove back to teju's place. He thanked her for the dinner and bid her goodbye

All this was seen by teju's baba from the balcony. She came inside to see aai and baba waiting for her in the living room

Teju: aray aap log soye nahi?

Aai: tera hi wait kar rahe the

Teju: I hope aap logo ne khana kha liya ho. I m toh crammed

Baba: who did you go out with?

Teju: was taken aback by her father's question. A friend baba. An old friend

Baba: naam nahi ha kya? I almost know all your friends

Teju: school friend hai baba. You would not know him

Baba: him ha?

Teju: enough of this interrogation session. I m so exhausted. Lemme go to sleep please

Aai: aap bhi na. Bacha ko sawal puch puch k pareshan kar diya. Go beta take rest. Kal party bhi attend karna hai na

Teju: thenks mama. Goodnight

The next day teju woke up around 11 in the noon. Got freshened up and was sipping her  regular coffee

Teju's pov

Its been so many years I went to party's like these. So many people will be there. They will bombard me with questions that I know for sure. How will you manage teju? Thankfully ada is coming. She will keep me company. It just the starting. After that I have to attend so many press conference and meet like these for the movie. So come on girl you can do it

It was now 7 in the evening and teju started to get ready. She donned a black bodycon long dress and paired it with a stilletos and a simple yet aesthetic neck piece. She let her hair open in loose long curls with subtle makeup. She was looking absolutely gorgeous. She drove herself to the party. It was 10 by then and  many people have arrived by then

Teju saw ekta maam and greeted her

Ekta ma'am: oh my holy goodness teju. I thought you would not make it dear. Thank you so much for coming

Teju: thank you for having me ma'am. And  a very happy birthday to you

Ekta ma'am pulled teju by her hand and start introducing her to her bollywood friends

Ekta: there is so much rawness in this girl I couldn't even explain how much I like you. You bright star ,I m so so proud of you. There's only going upwards from now on and no looking back. You got that!
Teju just nodded her head

Teju met all her friends and was extremely elated. She was having her chit chat with them wen her eyes caught karan. He too was having time with his friends. He probably didn't see her. He was looking extremely godly in that blue tuxedo and sleek hair holding a glass of whiskey. Teju's breath hitched and she started drooling looking at the handsome man in front of her. Teju hit herself for having such thoughts and showing such behaviour. She composed herself and start to talk  again. Her eyes kept wondering over to him. At one point of time she saw Karan gazing at someone rooted to his place with shocked and nervous expression. Teju looked towards that direction and saw the person she dispised the most, after all she was responsible for the break up between them. Anusha, she was wearing a off shoulder slit till thight bodycon red dress looking extremely seductive.
As soon as anusha's eyes caught karan's he excused himself and exited from the party

Teju's pov

Does she still affects him that much? She is married now but feels like Karan still cares for her, looking at the way how her presence impacted him. A lone tear escaped her eyes with the thought in her mind that karan never ever loved her the way he did to anusha
