(Y/N) wandered mindlessly in this unknown area of Mondstadt, her gaze dull, uncaring to even pay attention to where she was going anymore.

She blinked as a soft glow came into view.

A Statue of the Seven.

She frowned, averting her gaze below.

Fish.

There were fish, swimming happily within the pool beneath the statue. Swimming so cheerfully, as if soon they weren't about to be struck by lightning.

(Y/N) approached the water, slowly sitting beside it.

There were strange voices, echoing inside of her head.

Will the fish die if they were to be struck by the lightning?

She leant further towards the pond.

If the lightning strikes the water... would she be electrocuted, or killed..?

How long could she survive before lightning struck?

What if lightning never struck, and she was left to drown instead?

Thunder clapped.

All of a sudden, she was ripped out of the water.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

(Y/N) choked, coughing, her chest heaving, tears and pond water dripping down her face, gasping and gasping for breath.

(Y/N) broke down into tears before she could even let the air into her lungs.

"(Y/N)!" She was tugged away from the water. "(Y/N), can you hear me?! Breathe!"

She shook her head, sobbing, clutching onto the stranger who was gripping onto her, holding her so close.

"It's Kaeya," they whispered. "It's just Kaeya, okay. Just breathe. Breathe, (Y/N), okay?" His voice was shaky. "Shh, shh."

Once again, (Y/N) gasped for breath between her cries, collapsing straight into Kaeya's arms. He rubbed her back, his grip tightening, his eyes clamping shut, leaning into her as she continued to cry.

"Can't speak," she sobbed. "I can't speak."

"You can speak; you're speaking to me."

"I am..? You can hear me..?"

Kaeya nodded. "I'll always listen to you."

(Y/N) hid her face into his shoulder, unable to stop her tears. Carefully, Kaeya stroked her hair while his other hand pulled her in closer, securing her into his lap.

"I killed Mommy," she cried. "I killed Mommy. And I left Daddy to be all alone."

Kaeya shook his head. "You're making up stories. I'm sure both of them just want you to come home, okay? Let's go home."

"Daddy's going to hate me. Everyone hates me!"

"No one hates you. I don't hate you. None of us hate you. Okay..? Shh..."

(Y/N) only broke down further into tears.

Kaeya was silent as she bawled into his neck, her wet hair dampening his shirt, but at that point he didn't care.

He just wanted her to come back to her senses. Nothing was working.

"(Y/N), (Y/N), take deep breaths for me, okay..? Come on, I'll help you: look at me." He carefully wiped her wet face with his sleeve. "Breathe in." He sucked in a breath. She attempted to copy, sobs still escaping her chest. "Breathe out." A shaky breath left her lips, her entire body trembling in Kaeya's hold.
