"Whoa. You're in full bloom. What happened last night?"

"Oh nothing. Just made use of some water. And gel. Mostly gel."

"Lookin good."

"Damn straight."

"Crap. Humans. Act natural."

"What the hell's more natural than me?"

"Lu."

"What?"

"Lu. You can barely notice him."

'That's because he's dead. Or dying at least. Down to his last petal."

"Wow. Wait. He looks fine to me."

"That isn't Lu. That's Janice."

"What?"

"Yep. You're on your last legs too if you can't tell them apart."

"The Sun was in my eyes."

"So was Janice apparently."

"Damn. Lu's dead?"

"He subtly diverts. He's withering to be exact but yeah, credits are rolling."

"Always wanted to make it out of here, you know."

"Lu?"

"Yeah. Said you don't die right after you're plucked. If you're lucky, you could make it in some human's living room and--"

"Die a few days later is what you were going to say."

"No it wasn't."

"Well it's what happens. Being plucked is like the worst way to go out."

"No it's not. You get to see new places."

"Yeah and die, next to a bunch of randos. Death by bouquet they call it."

"Beats dying like this."

"What? Next to family?"

"Next to the sinking feeling of a predictable life."

"And what's so sad about that huh? I like to know what's in my soup before I eat it."

"You don't eat soup though."

"It's an ana-- you're messing with me, aren't you?"

"You walked right into that one. Say; You think Lu's gonna make it?"

"Maybe if the Sun stops taking steroids."

"You think we're gonna make it?"

"So much for predictable huh."

"If I could see the next day, that could change you know."

"Or it won't. And I'll have to watch you become Lu."

"You won't be Janice forever either."

"You wanna bet?"

"On what?"

"Who dies first."

"It's clearly gonna be you. Peackocking all of a sudden. It's a human mating season you know."

"It's always mating season with them."

"Bet your cocky attitude is why you're gonna get plucked though."

"What was that?"

"Nothing. Just karma; doing the dishes real soon."

"Can't you speak any louder?"

"I'm an enviromentalist. Any louder and I'm aiding and abetting sound pollution."

"Well I heard that so you must have been dissing me before."
