WRAPPED IN A raincoat with an umbrella over her, Caroline watched the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff match from between Hermione and Ron. It was a miserable day, thunder rumbling, lightning striking, but quidditch doesn't get cancelled simply because of the weather.
Chasing the golden snitch, Harry zoomed by on his broom, followed by the Hufflepuff seeker, Cedric Diggory. "Go, Harry!" Caroline yelled, clapping alongside all of Gryffindor.
"Go, Harry!" shouted Hermione. The match was quite a disaster, due to the weather. Broomsticks were being caught on fire from the lightning, the rain was blinding the players. Caroline had lost track of Harry when he flew up into the clouds after the snitch.
She was getting nervous. Caroline didn't like to be nervous. And then, falling from the sky, was Harry Potter, without a broom. "Harry!" Caroline screamed, hand cupped over her mouth in horror.
"Aresto Momentum!"

IN THE HOSPITAL wing, Harry laid in a bed, unconcious, with his friends and teammates at his side. The match had been stopped immediately, of course. Caroline had been the first to arrive at Harry's side, sitting on the edge of the bed to his right, beside Hermione, who stood to her left. "He looks a bit peaky, doesn't he?" Ron said, hovering over Harry's body.
"Peaky?" Fred asked his younger brother.
"What do you expect? He fell over 100 feet." George reminded Ron. "Let's walk you off the Astronomy Tower and..."
"...see what you look like." Fred finished.
"Probably a right sight better than he normally does." came a voice from the bed, and everyone snapped their eyes down to see Harry opening his.
Everyone chuckled as Harry began to sit up. "How do you feel?" Caroline immediately asked.
"Oh, just brilliant, Carol." Harry said, and Caroline hoped he couldn't see her blushing without his glasses on.
"You gave us a right good scare there, mate." George said, walking over to Harry and sitting down as he put his glasses on his face.
"What happened?" Harry questioned, just as Caroline's cat, Penny wandered into the hospital wing, pawing at Caroline until she lifted her up.
"Well, you fell off your broom." Ron answered. Caroline placed Penny next to her on Harry's bed, and Harry started petting the cat softly.
"Really?" Harry said, scooting upwards on the bed, still petting Penny. "I meant the match. Who won?"
Everyone hestitated to answer, so Hermione did. "No one blames you, Harry. The dementors aren't supposed to come inside the grounds. Dumbledore was furious. As soon as he saved you, he sent them straight off." Harry sighed, hearing the news.
"There's something else you should know too," Ron began, shifting uncomfortablely on his feet. "When you fell, your broom, it-it sort of blew into the Whomping Willow, and..." he unveiled the blanket the broom was in, letting Harry see it. "...well, it's uh..." Harry's face fell as he laid eyes on his destroyed broom, and Caroline swore she could feel her heart break at the sight.
