HARRY, RON, HERMIONE and Caroline walked down the stones buried in the earth towards Hagrid's hut for their Care of Magical Creatures class. Harry and Ron were still on edge from Divinations, but Hermione and Caroline had brushed off the whole ordeal. "You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black?" Ron asked out of the blue, the class bell tolling in the distance.

Caroline and Hermione rolled their eyes at the same time. "Oh, honestly, Ron. If you ask me, Divination's a very woolly discipline." said Caroline, adjusting her books that layed under her arm.

"Now, Ancient Runes, that's a fascinating subject." Hermione said, pulling up the rear of the procession down the grounds.

From the front of the line, Ron's voice could be heard. "Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this term?" he questioned.

  "A fair few."

Ron stopped walking to question Hermione's timetable, and Caroline and Harry brushed past them. "Are you okay?" Caroline asked, inspecting her best friend from behind as they walked.

Harry nodded. "Yeah. It's not like I believe her, or anything." he said, a twinge of amusement laced throughout his words.

"Right." Caroline answered, as she heard the ends of Hermione's words, her and Harry halting their movements to allow their friends to catch up. Then, Hermione mocked Professor Trelawney from in front of Harry, and they continued on their way.

CAROLINE, HERMIONE, HARRY and Ron had joined the other students in their class at Hagrid's hut, holding their horrifying monster books tightly. This was Hagrid's first lesson, and the four friends were hoping it would go well for him. Caroline was thrilled for this class, as well as Astronomy later in the day. She had been waiting since first year.

"That's it. Come on, now. Come closer. Less talking, if you don't mind," Hagrid said, standing at the base of his hut before all the third years. "I got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So follow me." Hagrid began leading the class into the forest, and everyone followed after him.

Caroline was buzzing with excitement. She had a feeling she would enjoy this class, as her favorite subject had always been Herbology. She felt better suited for classes that were outside, and ones that made her interested to learn. Caroline liked classes like Potions and Transfiguration, but she didn't connect with like she did with her favorites.

Hagrid had led everyone to a large clearing, and by the time they had arrived, both Ron and Caroline had taken off their robes. Caroline had tied her large bundle of dark braids into a knot at the base of her neck. "Right, you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there. And open your books to page 49." Hagrid instructed.

Draco Malfoy, who was unfortunetly in their class, scoffed loudly. "Exactly how do we do that?" he asked, and Caroline rolled her eyes.

Hagrid turned. "Just stroke the spine, of course. Goodness me."

Caroline stroked the spine of her book, and it immediately started purring, allowing her to open it. Caroline chuckled in awe. Harry smiled to himself as he watched his best friend interact with such a simple thing as a school book. Caroline turned and saw Neville begin to open the book without stroking it, and she quickly intervened.
