40. Promise

Today was arpita's baby shower. She has started her 9th month,  imlie was beyond excited to meet the little one

They had a family photo shoot with her customized tee shirts , imlie had to wear the mami tee shirt because arpita 'accidentally' spilled something on the masi one

She told narmada she got it made for aryan's girlfriend,  if he got any. But now they had no choice 

Narmada smiled to her, she wasn't oblivious like her ghonchu kids. She could clearly see the feelings cooking and decided to act until aryan tells it to her himself 

There was a family gathering in the evening,  imlie was standing on a stool helping last minute decorations 

She noticed aryan behavior getting weirder day by day since when her parents came, she asked dadda whether he did something but he denied it 

Suddenly she felt something shifting under her legs as she falls straight down and closes her eyes tightly 

"Sita maiyya itne upar to naahi the ki ab tak gir hi rahe h..zameen kaahe naahi feel ho rahi" 

As for aryan he was walking lost in thoughts when his leg him somewhere and suddenly imlie was in his arms 

"Tum? Kaha se aai?" Aryan asks lost

Imlie opens her eyes and finds her in aryan arms . She puts her arms around his neck holding him tightly and smiles

"Upar se, tap se karke bhagwan beje humko tumhare liye. Matlab upar se naahi apne amma ke pet se aaya...par toka pata h jab dui log bohattt jada pyaar karat h...waisan pyaar jaruri naahi howat h bacho ke liye.."

 "Kya kar rahi thi tum yaha upar?!" 

"Humka chodo! Tum stool ko dhakka mare the na ?! Hum isliye gir gaye, ab humko naahi chillao! Aur itni hi dikkat h to pakada kaahe?!" 

"Kyuki maine wada kiya tha tumhe girne nahi dunga " aryan says putting her down before moving 

"Akadbagge!" Imlie says holding his hand stopping him

"Tumko kya hua h ? Pareshan kaahe ho?"

"It's nothing imlie"

"Uu dev se related h?" 

"Han..." 

"Akadbagge, aaj function h ghar pe, sab kitne khush h. Tum ek neech insaan ke chakkar me apni khushi kaahe khatam kar rahe ho? Tum uuka naahi khud ko dard de rahe ho . Bass aaj ke liye, sab bhool ke, di aur chotu ke liye dil se khush ho jao " 

"I'll try, get ready imlie" Aryan says leaving her

He couldn't just digest the fact. Imlie was dev's daughter, he had scribbled it on a notepad many times to make himself believe it. She was the key , but he couldn't use her. He could conveniently inform the world dev had an illegitimate child, his reputation will go into hell after that, but so will imlie's. He could not even take a single bad word against imlie

Why did god had to complicate everything? How would imlie feel about knowing he wants to kill her dad? Aryan !! From past so many months you've waited for your revenge, to destroy his career and life. Now that you have that,...what's stopping you huh? Is imlie more important than justice? 

His heart knew the answer well

"Hello" 

"Mr rathore kaam ho gaya h....reports aa gai h...imlie is really his daughter.."

"Thank you Ms chaturvedi" 

Malini chautervedi wasn't a big fan of her father since he opposed her marriage,  aryan knew she was genuinely attracted with imlie. So he told her about imlie being dev's daughter and malini helped him in DNA test. Aryan told her it was for imlie's befits and her rights.  Malini readily agreed because she was an only child and had to carry her company,  but if imlie was proved to be a chautervedi too, imlie could be the one taking over
