Chapter 6 - Plan B

The Bad Guys, restrained, were being escorted to the police van with pedestrians watching as Tiffany spoke to the camera, "The Bad Guys go bust! The nefarious fivesome has finally been captured. And I, Tiffany Fluffit, am first on the scene. But the question remains: Where is the Joker?" Luggins escorts Wolf towards the van as she says, "Wow. You know, I-I just realized that I have devoted my entire adult life to putting you in jail. You are my purpose. Without you, who am I?"

She then laughs and smacks his back before saying, "Ah, I'm just kidding. This is the best moment of my life! It's the end of the Bad Guys. If you guys go down, then the Joker will too." The four were thrown inside the van as Wolf looks back, seeing the news asking Diane and Marmalade questions, but Diane was checking on Teresa to see if she was alright from almost being 'kidnapped'. Wolf gets an idea and slips away from Luggins and goes over, saying, "Excuse me." The reporters gasped in shock while Diane looks at Wolf, folding her arms as he continues, "Sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to congratulate the governor here."

"I got to say, you really got us pegged. We're just a deep well of anger and self-loathing." "Denial." Diane adds before Wolf spoke next, "Sure, that too." Diane adds, "Narcissism." "Yeah. Yeah." He said before Diane finished, "Emotional emptiness."

"He gets it, Diane." Teresa spoke, being confused of what Wolf was doing before Wolf speaks, "So we're on the same page." The others were confused as well before Wolf continues, "Sadly, we were never given a chance to be anything more than second-rate criminals. If only there was someone who could help the flower of goodness inside us blossom. Some icon of love and forgiveness, like, uh, I don't know, Mother Teresa. Best thing is to just throw us in jail for the rest of our hopeless lives." Marmalade was surprised by that, until Luggins grabs Wolf by the back of his shirt, saying, "Yeah, that's the plan." Wolf struggles to get out of her grip, but to no avail.

As Luggins was about to toss Wolf in the van, Marmalade yells, "Wait!" Luggins froze while Wolf smirked before Luggins mutter, "Uh, beg... beg pardon?" Marmalade walks forward, saying, "Mr. Wolf may be a savage beast. Basically walking garbage. Sorry, I'm making a point." Wolf nods to him and says, "Do what you need to do, pal." Marmalade continues, "But how can we say they're hopeless if they've never been given a chance? What if... what if we tried a little experiment, Diane?"

"As you know, my Gala for Goodness, the "hashtag charity event of the year," is coming up. If I can prove to everyone at that gala that the Bad Guys have changed, will you set them free and give them a clean start?" Teresa raised her paw up and says, "And I can help Marmalade with the experiment." Diane was shocked at that before Luggins spoke, "What? Professor Marmalade!" She drops Wolf to the down before she continues, "No, no, no, no, no. Don't you see what he's doing? He's playing you."

"But it was my idea."  Marmalade spoke until Wolf adds, "It was his idea." Luggins glared at Wolf and says, "But only because you made him have it. *to Diane* Madam Governor, you can't just let them go." Diane walks down the steps and says, "Professor, I'm not about to put the safety of the city and my sister on the line for an experiment." Wolf goes over and says, "Excuse me, Madam Governor. I seem to remember that a wise person once said, "Even trash can be recycled into something beautiful." Diane was surprised before she chuckled softly and says, "Okay, I'm game."

"But only because it's you, Professor." "No!" Luggins yelled before Diane continues, "We'll hold on to the Dolphin until the gala. Just to remove any unnecessary temptation." Marmalade gives back the Golden Dolphin, speaking, "Of course. Good thinking. That's why you're governor. Now that everyone's happy..." "Not happy..." Luggins mutters before Marmalade finishes, "...I, Rupert Marmalade the Fourth, will turn the Bad Guys into...the Good Guys!"

Everyone gasps at that while Wolf winks at the others. They were still confused as Wolf gives the chief back the handcuffs and gets in the van, Diane speaking, "Not everyone gets a second chance. Make the most of it, Mr. Poodleton." He gives her a two-finger salute before closing the door. The van drives away as Wolf explains the plan to the others, they're gonna pretend to be good so that when the gala starts, they'll steal the Golden Dolphin and skip town. Webs sends the email to Teresa about the plan as she secretly smiled.
