Eternal Flame

Every chemical put into a photograph
Crystallizes it forever
Trapping the memories in the storm it leaves in its wake
A chest of emotions

The sun exposes the photographs of you
Bleaching you out for it wants to forget you as much as I do

No amount of time can erase you from the stark paper that captured your last moments
It's tattered at the edges
Dirty and sizzled corners
I need more paper for the fire
And

Your picture is the only fuel
It works pretty well when you think about it
One by one
I tare up your words
Set them ablaze
Watch as my insecurities burn to crisp

I wish it actually worked like that
