Everyone is designated to one of 3 classes upon starting high school:
- Big
- Middle
- Little

BIGS:
Designated as care givers who will go on to be Mommies and Daddies later in life. They are designated a little to look after during school hours to meet their graduation requirements. Most Bigs will adopt a little from their local high school around the same time most adults start having children. Some will adopt earlier, some later.

MIDDLES:
Designated as child like individuals who decide upon graduation to be designated as a Big or a Little. Middle age range is from 7 - 15 years old. Middles who are graduating and have chosen Little will be included in the adoption process with incoming freshman littles. Most middles choose Big upon graduating and most will go on the be Mommies and Daddies. There is a slight bias against Middles who choose to become a Little upon graduating as they are seen as "less valid" than littles who were designated as such from the start of high school.
Middles account for the largest group of people to go on and have children by birth later on in life.

LITTLES:
Designated as young child like individuals who need to be looked after by caregivers full time. Little age range is from 1 - 6 years old. Littles are adopted in the first week of high school by a Mommy, Daddy, or any combination of the two. Littles are also designated a Big student to accompany them during their school years to meet their graduation requirements.

DESIGNATION PROCESS:
The first two days of high school are spent learning about the different designations, their roles in society and what they can expect upon receiving their designation. Days three and four are spent completing the medical and mental evaluations to determine the students designation. The final day is where students receive their schedules, and for littles to be adopted as well as being assigned their in-school Big.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
Adult Bigs (usually ages 25 - 50) apply for Little adoption through the Littles Adoption Agency who will match them with a Local High school where they will be invited to match with a Little on adoption day. In very rare cases Littles may be adopted by their biological parents though this is mostly only done by very wealthy families.
