Detective

The black and red hedgehog taps his finger on the table in his cuffs. "This is so stupid all I did was take a few candy bars and a can of mikes!" He shouted knowing someone was watching in the one way mirror. "You got this detective knuckles?" Said a bear to a red echidna. "Yeah I got it" he said and grabs the file. He walks into the room and the hedgehog smirks. "Damn I didn't expect a sexy detective~ come to punish me with your thick, long and—" knuckles slams the file down. "Enough and eyes up here" he said and sat down. "Now that I have your attention mind telling me why we found your fingerprints on the murder weapon?" He said and the hedgehog raised a brow. "Wait whoa whoa whoa murder? I thought I was going to be asked why I took some shit from the a gas station. And it was from a dare by my coworkers. I don't how I mixed up in a murder" the hedgehog said. "Shadow is it? Then explain this" he shows a picture of a scrap iron pole. "Well if you took a closer look at my profile you see I work in a scrap yard. We're supposed to wear gloves but I don't play by the rules half the time. I go in do my job, joke around with my coworkers and go home." Shadow crossed his arms on the table. Knuckles noticed a cut on his hand. "What happened to your hand?" He asked. "Easy like I said I don't play by the rules. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. I cut myself on a sharp piece of metal and got stitches." "How long ago?" "Almost a month ago" Shadow said and pulls off the bandage. Knuckles sees that it confirms and shadow wasn't his guy. "I will say this though the day I got cut some woman came by screaming at my coworker about something stupid her screaming distracted me and that's how I got cut." "Oh what does she look like do you remember?" "Sort of. Purple cat, ruby on her forehead, and rich ass clothes. Honestly I don't know what my coworker saw in her. I'm sorry why do you care what she looks like?" Shadow said. Knuckles pulls out the autopsy photo of her and placed it in front of him. "She's dead" he said and Shadow's eyes widen. "Damn.... Wait no wonder silver hasn't been at work..." "Silver?" "Yeah her boyfriend" shadow said. Knuckles nods and grabs the photos placing them into the file getting up. "Hey detective since I'm innocent wanna give me your number~" shadow winked and knuckles rolls his eyes leaving.

Silver was caught and confessed to killing his girlfriend because he had enough of her entitled nagging and verbal abuse.

Knuckles walks into the bar after putting the killer away and needed a drink. "Hey Juque scotch on the rocks please" he said. "Coming up knux" he replied and makes his drink. Knuckles sips on the drink and relaxes. "So we meet again detective~" he turns his head seeing shadow. "You stalking me?" He said. "Nah I come here after work after a long week" shadow smiled and sat next to him. "I guess I do have to thank you for helping me solve the case" knuckles said and sips on his drink. "Oh really? Well you're welcome~" shadow smiled. "Ya know I still would like your number~ or do you not like guys~" shadow flirts. Knuckles scoffs and bites his lower lips smiling. "You don't give up do you?" He asked shadow. "Not really until I hear a no I back off~" shadow smirked. Knuckles chuckles and reached in his blazer and takes out a small card with his number on it. He holds it up between his fingers. "Here" he said and Shadow takes it then dials the number. Knuckles phone ring and shadow smiles seeing his number popping up on the caller ID. "Ok you actually gave me your number~" shadow smiled. "Well I gave you my number when are you taking me out?" Knuckles asked. "The rest of the night and Sunday~" "you work fast" they cling their glasses.

2 hours later

The plop next to each other in shadows bed breathing heavy. "Damn detective I was right~ you were packing~" shadow smiled. "So were you petty thief~" knuckles smiled and the two start laughing.

They we're married two years later.
