Happy birthday Shadow

"WHY NOT?!" Sonic yelled at the ebony hedgehog. "Because sonic I said so!" Shadow yelled back. The two start arguing grabbing shadows fiancé's attention. "Hey whoa what are you two fighting about now?!" Knuckles said separating the two. "Shadow here doesn't want to tell me what he wants for his birthday" "Really? I swear you two fight over the stupidest things more than you and me sonic." Knuckles said. "Look my birthday isn't anything special ok? It's just another year of getting older" shadow crossed his arms. "Well the getting older part is but I mean you have friends that want to celebrate you babe." Knuckles smiled. "Yeah so tell me what you would like" sonic said and shadow sighed. "Fine I guess a gift card to my favorite coffee place" shadow said and sonic nods before bolting away. "Let's go home I'll make your favorite dinner" knuckles said and they leave.
The next morning knuckles walks in with a small dark chocolate cupcake with espresso buttercream frosting on top and a lit candle. He approached his sleeping future husband and sat on the bed. "Happy birthday shadiboo~" he said gently waking the hedgehog. "I told you to stop calling me that..." he grumbled but smiled. "Only at home I call you that" knuckles chuckled as shadow sat up. He blows out the candle and kisses his red love. "Thank you" shadow said and takes a bite. "So I got a nice day for you planned and a surprise when we get home" knuckles said getting up and grabbed a gift bag from the closet. "First open this up." He smiled and Shadow does seeing a new outfit he was looking at the other day from the mall. "Knux you shouldn't have thank you" shadow smiled. "I'll leave you alone to get ready I'm going to check on the breakfast pizza" he said and walks out. "What is he planning?" Shadow wonders but didn't care since knuckles is making his birthday special. Once he showered and got dress he head downstairs just as knuckles played their breakfast. "It smells very delicious" he said. They quickly ate and knuckles grabs the keys to his car to start the day. Shadow was surprised when they went to his favorite brewery and got a private tour of the facility. He was so excited to dip his own bottle into the wax. Then knuckles took him to the antique museum he was dying to go to, after that they had lunch at shadow's favorite restaurant where the owner had their meal on the house since they are regulars and shadow helped him out with deliveries on his days off. Knuckles then took shadow to their secret spot where they had a little quick "fun" in the back seat. Shadow really felt lucky and couldn't wait to marry knuckles next year. Once they got closer to their neighborhood knuckles pulled over and had shadow put on a blindfold. "I told you I would have a surprise when we get home so I need you to keep it on ok?" Knuckles said and shadow nods. When they arrived home Shadow felt knuckles helping him out of the car and to the porch. He heard knuckles unlocking the door and helped shadow inside. "Knuckles if this is some kinky ass plot you better tell me now" shadow said and knuckles chuckled. "No not really" he said and stops shadow. "Ok take the blindfold off." Knuckles said. Shadow does and blinks a few times seeing only knuckles. "So my surprise is yo—" "SURPRISE!!!!!!!" Shadow jumps into knuckles arms and turns to see their friends. "Happy birthday shadow!" They all said. "Oh my god" he said holding his chest after the shock wore down. "Gotcha" knuckles laughed and shadow playfully smacks his arm. "Thanks you guys" shadow smiled. They party went very well and shadow felt very blessed to have everyone in his life. But mostly he's very happy that he has knuckles with him for the rest of his life. After two more hours Knuckles walks up and gives shadow a kiss after their friends leave. "Thank you again knux today was very special I love you." He smiled.
