There's so much idle conversation happening that I don't notice I've zoned out until Jimin knocks on my desk, brows furrowed as he motions towards the teacher.
We've made it three classes so far, and I'm convinced that time is moving extremely slow today.
Looking towards the teacher's desk, he has a stack of books piled at the corner.
"Can you take these textbooks to the library for me?"
I nod, not bothering to tell Jimin bye since we'll see each other here shortly for lunch.
Like always.
With the books piled in my arms, I leave through the halls, walking across the campus to the library that I spent so many hours in. Another student holds the door open when I get to the library, letting me in while she exits. I stop at the desk, eyes on Mihi as she stands behind the counter, scanning the pile of books before her with a hand scanner.
I suppose I just stand and stare at her because she's startled to look up and find me still before her without words.
"Do you always just show up and stare at people without talking?" She whispers, looking around momentarily before directing her attention back to me.
"No, I guess it's reserved for my girlfriend." Her cheeks pinken and its enough to make my lips tick up in a small smile. "Mr. Hwei sent me with books."
She glances at them, taking a clipboard and telling me to follow her.
I smirk, watching her hips sway naturally as I follow her to the textbook storeroom, opening the door so we can both get inside the large closet like space. The motion activates the lights to flicker on, Mihi standing above a small table in the middle of the space as she writes something on the clipboard.
Placing the stack of books next to her, I move to stand behind her, placing my chin on her shoulder and breathing in her scent. She briefly stiffens before relaxing when I wrap my arms around her waist.
"Are you okay?"
Her question catches me off guard so I inhale deeply, giving myself a moment to consider an answer that isn't necessarily a lie. "I think so? I mean, I will be, at the very least... Right?"
She moves in my arms, turning to look up at me as she wrap her arms up and around my neck. "It must feel conflicting. On one hand, we've been seeing each other in secret -- now we're dating-"
"Still in secret," I mumble, looking away from her honey eyes.
"Shush. And on the other hand, Jimin's been making the move to get in my pants, and managed to get a date with me."
I furrow my brows and look back to her. "You've known his goal was to get into your pants this entire time?"
She scoffs, furrowing her brows in response. "I'm confused, do you think I was so dense as to not know Jimin and his reputation?"
I huff a sound that holds semblance to a laugh, pulling her body closer to me. "Never, but I'm amazed that you humored his efforts."
She shrugs, smiling slightly. "I just wanted to prove to him that if he works hard he can achieve what he wants. While the date seemed impossible given his own goal, I'm really proud of him."
I nod, leaning to rest my forehead against hers. "I know." I'm quiet for a beat before I mumble, "Maybe we should wait to until after the date before telling anyone."
It feels like minutes pass before she nods her head in a silent reply. Her eyes are casted down so I lift her chin with one of my hands, pulling our faces apart so I can have her attention.
