Ranbir opened his eyes to face the white ceiling as he groaned at the sunrays disturbing him, but being too lazy, he stayed in bed, staring at the ceiling, finally defeated after a few minutes, he got up and closed the curtains before going into the washroom

Pallavi entered his room only to find it empty and sighed, wondering whether he already left

"Did he leave already? no no no" she muttered anxiously and looked for his phone, when she saw it connected to the charger, relief spread through her as she sighed and looked around the room once more

"Ranbir?!" she called out, her voice echoing in the room as she waited for her son to come out of the washroom and got out of his room

"yes, mom?" Ranbir asked after coming out of his room startling Pallavi, who smiled nervously about something that Ranbir was unaware of as he observed his mother's actions in the morning

"Oh, there you are, I wanted to talk to you about something, I'm sure your dad told you about it yesterday" Pallavi reminded Ranbir and he nodded, not wanting to talk about it however agreed

"You might want to sit down for this one, no, wait, let's go talk in front of everyone, it would be better since this is important for all of us" Pallavi said making Ranbir wonder what the lady was talking about but agreed and the two made their way downstairs and sat on the sofa where his father, Vikram and his grandmother, who he called Dida was already sitting while talking over something

"Oh, sit down" Dida said and the two sat down, Pallavi looked straight at Ranbir and hesitated for a second before speaking

"Do you know your father's friend, Abhishek Mehra?" She asked him

"The owner of fusion beats?" Ranbir confirmed to avoid any misunderstanding and the lady nodded

"Yeah, him, he has two daughters, and I like his elder daughter Prachi, I think she would be perfect for you... for marriage" Pallavi stated, after hesitating for a while as she smiled but her smile soon evaporated as Ranbir scoffed, tension disseminated through the atmosphere as the family members looked at Ranbir and then back at her signalling her to speak further

"I know you don't want to hurry about marriage, but have you thought of your future life, Ranbir? and that girl is really sweet, she is independent, open-minded, well-behaved, brought up in a family like us and understands our culture, it would be perfect for her and you to get married" Pallavi stated, looking at Ranbir anxiously, expecting he would just agree to at least meet Prachi

"for marriage? really, mom? I told you thousands of times that I don't want to get married, how do you never understand?" Ranbir said and even though he said it calmly, his eyes expressed the anger that his words didn't and Pallavi felt anguished, looking away from him and composing herself

"Ranbir, that's not a way to talk to your mother" Dida scolded him and he sighed and nodded, he looked back at his mom, waiting for her to make the further move

"Ranbir, she's a lovely girl, trust me, I'm not forcing you to wed her, but please, at least just meet her once, and then you can decide the rest" Pallavi calmly said, almost beseeching with her son, she knew him too well, and it was now or never

Ranbir was soon going to get full authority over his business and once he had that, he would never ever get married and maybe even get detached from them, perhaps something had gone wrong to turn Ranbir into this, but every time she saw him acting rude, her heart broke to pieces, she had put her life out on his hand, she had done everything she could to just treasure him enough and raise him well

She didn't understand what went wrong...

"Mom!" Aryan hollered and came into the house, smiling, but as he neared, his smile disappeared slowly when he sensed the stress in the aura, Ranbir glanced at his elder brother who looked at him with his eyebrow raised
