"I have many faults and I have many fears, but I am going to embrace myself as hard as I can, and I'm starting to love myself, little by little.
What is your name? Speak Yourself!"
And with that, an applause roared from the seated dignitaries. Maia let out a sigh of relief as she watched from the monitor, a satisfied smile on his face. He made it. That was the only thought in her head as she saw them bow to the audience. Alhamdulillah ya Rabb you guided him. She saw them retreat to their assigned seats and listened to the other speakers intently. Once they had the tea break, she dashed for the team and found them walking in her direction. She saw his wandering eyes, looking for her amidst the crowd, and when they met, she saw them gleam. He ran in her direction and she met him halfway. He lifted her and twirled her. "We made it, aegi-ya! We did it!" Namjoon smiled and stole a peck against her lips. She gasped and that gave him the perfect chance to deepen the kiss. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders and she smiled into the kiss, giving in.
"Yah! Noona, get a room!"
That broke the trance they were in, and she giggled, hiding her face in Namjoon's neck. "Yah! Jeonggukkie, look away! That's my fiancé!"
Fiancé. It still felt surreal. Maia took a chance and that was all that Namjoon needed to get things working. His father already knew she was the right one, ever since their ride from the airport. The team was so accepting of Maia, and Jeongguk literally is attached to her by the hip. Her parents were baffled when the man whose posters were still on the walls of their daughter's room was speaking to them – that too, for her hand in marriage. Maia's dad wasn't easy to convince, but Namjoon offered to fly them here and meet him first before accepting his proposal. And boy, did Namjoon work for it. After days of proving his feelings for Maia, her parents agreed.
She found the reason why she remained uninterested in men who came her way – she had sealed her heart off to the gentle giant that was living across an ocean with her book and the lucky charm – her letter. Who would have thought having no hope would eventually lead to her forever. After all, dreams do come true.
