A Poem for the Unknown

I want you.

I want you to kiss me with impetuous intensity.

I want you to explode with vulnerability.

I want to have chats with you in the dim lighting of my living room.

I want you to whisper your thoughts on death and life

Because these things cannot be spoken too piercingly.

I want you to pinky promise that you will never tell my secrets

When I whisper them to you in our unmade bed.

I want us to giggle at dinner parties,

Our unexposed vulnerability a secret we hide behind our backs,

Fingers hooked together

As we grin knowingly at one another.

I want you to steal kisses when no one is looking,

A vow for what will come when the world finally slows down.

I want you.

There is only one problem:

I haven't met you.
