Tÿlana sat on the sand with Kiri and Tuk in front of her. At first, the ocean girl had just come to listen to the waves but then the two sisters sat in front of her and began asking questions about the ocean. Tuk was extremely curious when it came to all things relating to the sea, and Kiri was as well but it felt different. Tuk was just pure fascination. No one could blame her. The sea was a gorgeous place with so many things to learn or look at. On the other hand, Kiri asked questions with a deeper meaning. She was fascinated in the water but she was also entranced with the water. Like she was one with it.
Tÿlana enjoyed every second she spent with them though. She believed the forest girls were beginning to love the ocean as much as she did, if not more. Most of the time it was hard to drag any of them out of it, but put them all together, you wouldn't be able to even get a word in.
" No Tÿa, you don't pronounce it eekrain. It is ikran." Kiri corrected her while she and Tuk laughed at the pronunciation.
Tÿlana rolled her eyes at the laughter, raising her hands to defend herself. " I am not from the forest, I do not know the annunciations."
At the word forest both of the sisters went quiet very quickly. Tÿlana frowned at that.
" Do you miss it?" Tÿlana asked.
Kiri looked down at the sand with a frown on her face while Tuk looked at her sister in concern. For a second Tÿlana regretted the question but once she made eye contact with Kiri she knew she did not step over any lines.
" The forest has been our home since we were born. It was all we knew." The eldest sister replied with the tiniest of smiles on her face. " But this...this feels like home to me now."
Tÿlana smiled brightly at that. She wanted the whole Sully family to feel that. To feel like they were welcomed and appreciated here.
" The forest was really pretty," Tuk chipped in with a smile. She saw she had the Metkayina girls attention and continued, " Everything about it was. The animals were, the clan was, the forest. It was all so pretty."
" It was weird coming from trees and plants to water." Kiri said with a small laugh.
" I am glad you guys are here though. I wasn't open to it at first but it has been very nice having you and your family around." Tÿlana smiled at them. She saw the two Sully brothers walk towards them. " Speaking of your family."
Neteyam sat down and smiled at the group of girls. Lo'ak on the other hand stayed standing but reached out and grabbed Tÿlana's arm, pulling her up gently. The girl protested against it but he rolled his eyes and nodded his head to the water.
" We'll catch you guys later." Lo'ak told his siblings as he started walking to the water, dragging the girl with him.
" Bye Kiri, bye Tuk!" She waved with her free hand. Neteyam gave her a fake offended look which made her laugh. " Bye Neteyam."
The three waved to them with smirks on their faces or a smile in Tuk's case. Neteyam and Kiri looked at one another and started laughing. Tuk looked between them, confused.
" Why are you guys laughing?" She innocently mumbled.
" You will understand when you're older, Tuk." Neteyam assured her, bringing his hand to her head and ruffling her braids. She giggled and swatted his hand away.
Kiri watched as Tÿlana jokingly shoved Lo'ak in the water as two ilu swam up to them. Lo'ak splashed her with a smile on his face before getting onto the ilu and speeding off. Tÿlana quickly followed after him.
Kiri smiled a tiny bit. It was nice to see Lo'ak so happy, although he was playing in dangerous grounds. She tried to brush the feeling off.

" Tulkun." Tÿlana signed. She watched Lo'ak squint his eyes at her, trying to focus and figure out what the word meant. " Our spirit brother's and sister's are..?"
" Tulkun!" He yelled as if he had just found out that Eywa was behind him.
Tÿlana laughed at his excitement before nodding. " Yes."
" Okay so, in English we say this phrase 'badass', it's pretty much a compliment if someone calls you that." He explained to her. " Try saying it."
" Bad-ss." She tried to pronounce the word.
The girl frowned as Lo'ak began laughing at how she said the word. He laid back on the sand, clutching his stomach as he laughed loudly. Tÿlana rolled her eyes, annoyed. She grabbed a handful of sand and threw it on him with a huff.
" Lo'ak!" She whined.
He continued laughing for a moment before finally catching his breath and shaking his head. " No, no. Not bad-ss. Bad-ass."
" Ba-d." They practiced together, maintaining eye contact. " Ass."
" There you go!" He smiled at her.
Tÿlana rolled her eyes jokingly and flipped him off. He reacted to her reaction with a gaped mouth and shock in his eyes.
" I help you and that's what I get?!"
" Yes."
" Explain how that's fair."
" You laughed at me for like four minutes!"
" Because it was funny, Lana!"
The nickname rolled off his tongue so easily and both of them froze for a moment. Lo'ak looked at her to see if she was about to start yelling at him for it, but she didn't. The girl simply just stared at him for a moment with wide eyes and flushed cheeks. Soon enough a smile made its way on her face.
" Lana?" She teased.
" Stop." He immediately said with a little laugh. " It just came out!"
" I like it." She admitted, her ears going up slightly as she shrugged with a smile.
" Hm good, because it's staying now." He retorted with a nod of confirmation. " Show me more."
And she did. For hours, the two of them sat there going back and forth teaching each other new things. At times it became difficult when the other would laugh for minutes at a time but then again it felt so easy to just be around and laugh. The two teenagers didn't feel the need to impress each other or try to act like they were Toruk Makto's son, or the Chief's daughter, they just had to act like Lo'ak and Tÿlana.
