was it bravery swimming underneath our lungs that time we dipped our bodies in the depths of the waters in the dead of the night, our bodies tucked to bed by the ocean waves gently rocking us back and forth against seafloor and coral corpses, pushing and pulling just as the moon above so demands, tired hearts being lulled to slumber by the sound of the sea kissing the shore? is this the circle of life, then? this coming, and this going, this lovely lullaby sung only by the seas soon after the death of the sun, only to rise once again as a new dawn washes the coast, bathes it in new beginnings? is this bravery as well, tucking my bones above the sand, some place the tides will never reach, laying under the stars, watching Polaris watch us? just how much lovelier can the night get? just how much more can i love you?
