Author's Note

Hello my lovely readers 💕

I wanted to write something more than just a little author's note on the last chapter or epilogue because you deserve better, so here I go!

When I started to write this story it was November 2022, I was stanning Stray Kids for maybe something over a month (hence my nickname haha - baby stay in the building, props to Seungmin for my favorite SKZ meme.) and I started writing it just because of that 2 kids room with Felix and Hyunjin. It felt like they have something special and the more of "their moments" I watched the more I was inspired to write Balance.

I'm not gonna lie, I was really intimidated at first, because I wrote my last fan fiction when I was in my early teens, so I wasn't very confident in my writing skills anymore. I was RUSTY. Another thing is that I wanted to write for bigger audience, so I wanted to write it in English as well. So this is my first story I wrote in English and I'm so glad that it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be haha. Also I didn't want to completely change the boys' personalities so I really did my homework and tried my best to make their behaviour believable. I've got to say that thanks to that I learned a lot about Stray Kids and I probably can't call myself a Baby Stay anymore, but oh well 💀

At first this story didn't get any reads or votes or comments, but I tried my best to be consistent and better myself and it really worked out. Many of you started reading this story, voting on it, leaving comments and honestly that kept me going. I still can't believe that this story has 15k+ reads as I'm writing this. Just wow! As I said before, it just showed me how special a precious Stays are and I'm proud to be one of you, guys <3 You were very kind to me along the way, made me laugh with some of your reactions and just made my days overall better when life kind of sucked, so I can't say anything else but THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything, I'm sending you lots of love and hugs and I hope that this story made you happy and feel free to return to it any time and definitely let me know what do you think about this story overall! ♥

So what's the plan for now?

I'll probably take some needed rest 😭But don't worry! I don't plan to be gone for more than 2-3 weeks. I have already other stories planned and here is where YOU play the role.

What story should I write sooner?

Bonus Deal - pairing: Hyunlix (Summary: Felix is broke, hates his corporate job and he's very bad at it. Hyunjin is an important business partner that could save him, the only catch is that strange bonus deal Hyunjin offered.) - Definitely more mature than Balance. Another warning I should give is that Hyunjin is a little bit arrogant here/doesn't like commitment and stuff. So yeah, prepare to be angry sometimes.

Camping alone - pairing: Minsung (Summary: Minho goes camping alone. Or atleast he planned to do so. He didn't expect his idol collegue to join him, especially not after that kissing incident in Finding SKZ.) - I'd say this one is more light-hearted and sun-filled, channeling those spring/summer vibes. Probably a shorter one. :)

Lastly, I want to add a disclaimer? Let's be a little deep right now and have a discussion. I need to take some time off to think about writing fan fiction in general. I don't want to scare you or anything, but sometimes I feel like I do something bad. I hope that everyone who reads this knows that I care for Stray Kids and I mean no harm when I write these stories. It's not meant for their eyes and I would be deeply ashamed if they would see it or if it would hurt them. Clearly it's fiction, I don't want to push some narrative on them and they're in my stories for characters' purpose only. But sometimes I can't shake off this feeling that it's wrong because they're real people and even some Stays hate this type of content. How do you deal with this feeling? How do I continue? I'd be glad for any advice.

I think that's all I wanted to say.
