I walked outside gazing at the stars Farkle's fingers intertwined with mine as the moon shined brightly in the midnight sky, his parent's behind us chatting it up
"Bubs?" I looked down from the sky to him as he pointed to a piano over on a stage "Play something" He chirped rocking on the balls of his feet making me smile "I don't think we can go up there" Scratching the back of my head I looked at him guiltily as he pouted "Pleaseee"
Sighing I trudged over to the piano on the stage pressing on the keys randomly....I am so going to get in trouble for this
Taking a deep breath I started to press on the keys
"Some people long for a life that is simple and planned, Tied with a ribbon" I hummed this old melody of a song popping into my head
"Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land, To follow what's written" Leaning into myself the song flowed through me like a distant memory "But I'd follow you to the great unknown, Off to a world we call our own" Closing my eyes, memories rushed through my head one memory in particular making me smile, the memory being of Maya and I waltzing playfully as mom sang this song to us when we were five
"Hand in my hand, And we promised to never let go, We're walking a tightrope" Jumping a little I opened my eyes as the stage lights suddenly popped on, I looked towards Farkle and his parents as a small crowd of people started to form around them
"High in the sky, We can see the whole world down below, We're walking a tightrope" Looking away from the forming crowd I looked up to the sky as it seemed the moon started to shine brighter
"Never sure, never know how far we could fall" I jumped from surprise once again as Maya suddenly sat beside me wiggling her eyebrows goofily, this is so weird
'When'd you get here?" I mouthed as she nodded over to Farkle who was now standing with Lucas and Riley 'He called me' Nodding I looked down at the keys before looking back up at her 'Go ahead' She nudged taking over the piano playing
"But it's all an adventure, That comes with a breathtaking view, Walking a tightrope" Closing my eyes I stood up turning to the crowd of people my stage fright kicking in as I opened my eyes and seen how big the crowd had gotten, so, so weird
I looked back at Maya as she mouthed 'look at him' I sucked in a breath as I searched the crowd for my turtlenecked genius my eyes soon locking with his as he smiled brightly at me
"With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, With you" I focused on him and only him as I continued to sing walking towards the stages steps "Mountains and valleys, and all that will come in between, Desert and ocean" Walking through the crowd I smiled absentmindedly at them as they looked as though they were almost in awe of me, I don't know why though when I'm just one boy, one ordinary boy....
"You pulled me in and together we're lost in a dream, Always in motion" I continued to walk through the crowd as I maneuvered through them nodding as they shouted compliments "So I risk it all just to be with you"
"And I risk it all for this life we choose" Finally stopping I looked at Farkle and the guys as they smiled at me cheering me on 'You're amazing' Farkle mouthed making my cheeks turn red "Hand in my hand, and you promised to never let go
We're walking a tightrope" Holding out my hand I sang with a giant smile as he slid his hand into mine
"High in the sky, We can see the whole world down below
We're walking a tightrope" I pulled him back through the crowd and up onto the stage as he looked at me shocked the crowd cooing at us, I bowed dramatically as he did the same before he offered his hand out to me mouthing 'Can I have this dance Bubs?'
Taking his hand he spun me into his chest "Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?" As I hit the high note he dipped me slowly staring into my eyes with a smile on his face "Well, it's all an adventure, That comes with a breathtaking view, Walking a tightrope" As he pulled me up from the dip slowly I smiled as we never broke eye contact it was almost as if we were the only two people in the world
"With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you" We started waltzing as the song started to come to a close the spotlight shining down on us as Farkle made silly faces to get me to laugh "With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

"With you" As the song came to a close we stopped dancing staring into each others eyes for what felt like hours but was really just a few seconds because we were soon snapped out of our trance from the cheering of the crowd
"Wooo" The crowd erupted in cheers making me turn away from Farkle "You did great Bubs" He whispered pushing me towards the crowd "I can't believe I did that" I thought out loud as the people continued to clap, Really, really weird

"You've got to be kidding me" Huffing I slammed my locker close "What's up?" Pushing my head against my locker I handed Lucas my phone
"What are you showing me, I don't understand" He looked up from the phone with a confused expression on his face
I rolled my eyes taking the phone and zooming in on two names before handing it back to him "It's the partnering list for the next assignment at my dance academy" He made an O shape with his mouth as he handed me back the phone
"And the boy um, Mackenzie who you almost kissed is your partner I assume" I nodded letting my head fall onto his shoulder as we started walking down the hall to our first class "That must suck" He snickered as I lifted my head from his shoulder pinching his arm "Ow" He grimaced rubbing his arm
"Oh, did that hurt?" He nodded with a glare aimed at me "Good" I rolled my eyes walking away from him "Hey wait for me!!" I shouldn't have told him about that
Seconds later
I rounded the corner Lucas on my tail as I walked into Mr. Matthews classroom "It's a pleasure of you to join us Mr. Hart, Mr. Friar" I nodded walking to my seat saying a quick 'hi' to Farkle and the girls before sitting down
"And for your tardiness I want you to show the new kid around" Mr. Matthews pointed to my side at a boy.....
"Mackenzie!?" I looked at the boy in question who looked at me cheekily with a giant grin on his face "You guys know each other?" I looked at Farkle as he looked at me curiously my words getting caught in my throat
"He is in Mitchy's dance academy course" Lucas teased leaning into his hand as I rolled my eyes not turning to look at him "Hi Pretty eyes" I turned away from Mackenzie, his and Farkle's eyes on me
"Pretty eyes?" Farkle's questioning tone made me jump a little as Mr. Matthews started his lesson "So, there's this guy Damocles who really really wants to be king, one day, he gets an invitation to come sit on the throne and actually hang with royalty" He looked directly at Riley as he continued to speak
"So Pretty eyes I guess we're classmates now too" I could hear Mackenzie chuckle making me shudder at his playful but clearly unbothered tone "Shh, I'm trying to pay attention" I said through my teeth looking directly at the wall in front of me
"Aren't you going to look at me" I ignored his question as I could hear him chuckle softly "Alright after class then Pretty eyes" He lulled going silent
"Bubs?" Farkle's questioning tone made me go still I didn't turn to him I was to scared, so I just kept my eyes on the wall only speaking when Mr. Matthews asked me something
