Jake and Ni-ki are neighbors and childhood friends.
Ni-ki always stays in Jake's house because his parents are both working meanwhile Jake's mom is a housewife hence they stay at home with them.
Ni-ki's mom would just leave him allowance and money to Jake's mom because that's were he's always eating from breakfast till dinner since his parents come home late.
Ni-ki grew up in this set up so he's very close to Jake...
They eat, play, read, sleep, bath and go to school together ..
Which Ni-ki really loves he is thankful that he have Jake in his life like a big brother that even his parents are busy in work, he don't feel lonely because Jake is always there for him .
On his birthdays ...

Little Jake greet as he kissed ni-ki's fat cheeks and hands him a mini cake..
Ni-ki always celebrate his birthdays on Jake's house because this time around in December his parents are in business trip. So basically he will be alone if he stays in his house
Same for other occasions such as Christmas, his parents will just sent him a gifts and money which Ni-ki doesn't really care of.

Jake and Ni-ki literally grow together side by side that they already seen everything of them ~better to worst .
"Jake hyung huehuehuehhueheu"... a seven year old ni-ki cries on his hyungs arms as he told Jake what happens at school
Some kids bully Ni-ki saying that no one loves him. Since his parents never fetch him at school or packed a school lunch for him, neither attends school meetings.
Though this things are fulfilled by Jake's mom. ( Jake's mom act as his mom in this situations)
Ni-ki doesn't feeling it.. He still longed for a maternal love.
Thankfully Jake is there for him protecting him like a brother and loves him like a mom, unconditionally ^^>>
" I love you Ni-ki don't believe them they're the ones who lack of love and attention"
Jake said as this is what his mom used to tell him everytime his classmate do the same thing to him. So he just ignored them now .
"I love you too Jake hyung.. please don't leave me too .. "
Ni-ki replies as he hug his Jake hyung tightly, he's so warm .
