When Hashtag was taking the selfies, you could actually see Nightshade leave.

Not only did they ruin the cute selfie by not properly being on it, they also looked kinda serious.

Maybe because they saw Sam being chased by the mugger, they were the only facing that direction (Jawbreaker was facing the camera, go see) because right after they seemed to exactly know where they were.
Fun fact: owls are stealthy animals as they don't make noise while flapping their wings.
