It had been five long years since I had joined the agency, yet the memory of my very first mission with Agent K was still as vivid as if it had just happened yesterday. We had been assigned to capture photographs of a drug dealer Tony Falcone's illicit drug dealings, and we knew that the mission would be risky, but we had never expected what followed.

As we heard the footsteps approaching, I gestured to K to remain put while I explored further. But as soon as I turned the corner, there was nobody in sight. In a sudden twist of events, the door flung open, and there stood Tony Falcone, only he was no longer the man we knew - he was a zombie!

I glanced around for K, but he was nowhere to be found. I managed to flee the jaws of the undead in the building and discovered that everyone around me had been infected, even my fellow agents. I felt alone and petrified like never before.

Then, in my confusion and despair, a girl in a lab coat suddenly appeared, frantically waving at me. She took me to an underground lab and there she introduced herself as Dr. Lee and disclosed that she and her team had accidentally unleashed the zombie virus. I didn't think twice before offering my help, but I couldn't help but worry about K's whereabouts.

As we toiled tirelessly to discover a cure, a nagging feeling persisted that something was amiss. This couldn't have been an accident, I felt. When we finally found the vaccine that would counteract the virus's effects, a wave of relief swept over me. However, my elation was short-lived since K was still nowhere to be found.

I searched high and low for him, dreading the worst. I was about to give up when I stumbled upon a dimly lit alley. I saw a dark figure moving towards me, and as it drew closer, I realized it was K, only he was different - unresponsive, and seemingly out of his mind.

I didn't know what to do, but I refused to give up on him. I recalled the vaccine, and without a moment's hesitation, I injected it into him. It was a gamble, but it paid off. K began to calm down, and his eyes slowly regained their normal composure.

As we walked out of that alley, alive and together, we felt a sense of relief. During our debriefing, I felt an inexplicable feeling creeping over me. K had always been my partner and my friend, but now, he was more. When he leaned in and kissed me, it caught me off guard, but I couldn't deny the spark that had been ignited between us.

Looking back on that mission, I realized that the most unexpected situations could lead to the most unexpected emotions. K and I may have started as colleagues in the agency, but we ended up finding something far deeper.

"Sera, Sera, wake up!" Ella nudged me, pulling me out of my fantasy.

In frustration, I groaned "It was just a dream."

Ella gave me a quizzical look. "What was it about?"

I shook my head, reluctant to share the specifics of my dream with her. "Nothing important. Just a peculiar mission."

Ella shrugged and left the room, but I couldn't shake off the unease I felt. The dream had felt so authentic, and the emotions I had felt were still with me.

As I went about my duties, my mind kept drifting back to the dream. Was it merely my subconscious playing tricks on me, or was there a grain of truth in it? I couldn't dismiss the fact that I had always felt connected to K, but I had never acted on it. And now, after the dream, I don't know if I can ignore it anymore.
