A/N's *POV*
As Lydia was speaking with her son she couldn't help but feel a presence behind her, and she turned around, and she saw no one but little did she know someone was watching behind a tree.
Boogie: "you not finna go and talk to her."
Poppa: "what do I even say to her." He says, looking down, kicking the dirt.
Boogie: "you don't say anything , you just let it happen." He says, looking up at him and patting his shoulder:
Poppa: "okay, here goes nothing." He says showing his face.
As Alex walked up behind his mom, he had heard her lecturing him on being on his best behavior even though he was trying to be on his best behavior. As she turned around she jumped back due to shock. She looked up at what she thought was her dead son then he speaks up
Poppa: "Hey Ma." He says while scratching his neck, not knowing what else to say:
Lydia was too shocked to say a bit she engulfed her son in an enormous hug, and she let all of her emotions go onto his shoulder and she said
Lydia: "you don't know how much I've missed you." She says as tears fell from her face, and she says, "what happened."
Alex takes her hand, and he walks her out of the cemetery, and he sees that boogie was gone, so he took the car that was left for him, and he says, "why don't we go someplace quiet." She nods in agreement, and she gets into the car, and he starts the car and drives to the dance studio:

Lydia wasted no time to asking what had happened
Lydia: "this doesn't make sense, what happened." She says sitting on the floor facing the mirror.
Poppa: "I just remember waking up to no one, they told me I was transferred to Memphis and that they didn't have any records of me ever being in Michigan." He says sitting next to her and looking into the mirror as well.
Lydia: "you don't remember, do you what happened to you." She says, finally looking at him.
Poppa: "no not that I can recall, but I do know there was a fight, but that's all I remember, everything is blank." He says looking at his mom:
Lydia: "I won't pressure you to remember, but I will tell you I am leaving your father. I can't take his drug addiction. I can't help him he won't take my help..." she says, holding his hand
Poppa: "it's because of me, isn't it."
She didn't want to lie, so she just nodded her head as a yes, and she said to him
Lydia: "I knew this day would happen, but I didn't know when, so I have the papers signed already, and I left them with your dad, and I'm starting my life the way I wanted. I'm not going back to my old life." She says, smiling, "and you can come with if you'd like to."
Poppa: "I met uncle Boogie, he's a cool guy."
Lydia:" He is I'm glad he took care of you..." she said, kissing his hand
Poppa: "you knew, but how." He said:
Lydia: "I heard talks, but I didn't want to believe you came back from the end, but know you're here. It makes it all the more real that you aren't dead, and you are living, and I promise you with my life I'll protect you I promise you with your grandfather's grave I'll keep you safe no matter what."
Alex scoots over, and he hugs his mom, just knowing she would promise to keep him safe meant he didn't have to worry about the world on his back
