You were sat beside Mei, watching her play a game on her phone. You were trying to keep it hidden but the game made you curious, there was a small little character that Mei was controlling while it explored an abandoned looking school. Mk was sat beside Mei, hyping her up as the two of them were talking to each other about where to go and other stuff

You just sat there, carefully watching her enjoy playing the game until the music from her phone turned into this ambient horror music and suddenly the little character was now being chased, Mei was screaming and tried to run away

"AHHHHHH-"

"MEI RUN, RUN, RUN!!?"

"I AM RUNNING??!!"

"RUN FASTER-?!!!"

The two were yelling at each other at this point as Mei's little character got stuck in a maze and soon the music had slowed down a bit, making Mei and Mk sigh.

"Did you loose her? I think you did-"

As Mk said that, Mei's little character turned a corner and was jumpscared by the thing that was chasing it a while ago, the two yelled and Mk practically jumped out of his seat.

You just blinked and watched them.

"Did you loose?"

You asked Mei, tilting your head to the side curiously.

"Yeah I did, I can't believe this! They didn't even play the chase music first!"

Mei complained as she placed down her phone, she then looked at you and noticed how you had your eyes on the game the entire time, then she got an idea

"Do you wanna play it?"

She asked, handing you her phone

"Ah. No thank you, maybe next time."

You politely declined

Mei frowned and took her phone back, she sighed. She really wanted to see how someone like you would react to playing a horror game but she swore to herself that someday- maybe not today but some day.. she would get you to play a horror game

You noticed that her frown and decided to change the subject, you looked around and noticed her phone which last you checked it, it used to have any cracks but now it seemed new

"Is it that a new phone?"

You asked, pointing out her phone on the table

Mei seemed to drop the frown and smiled since you noticed that she got a new phone

"Oh- yeah! I got it just before new years since the camera in my old phone broke and I wanna take pictures during the festival!"

She said with a smile as she held up her new phone

" Ohh I almost forgot- the festival is like tomorrow right?? "

Mk asked, popping his head out from behind Mei's shoulder

" mhm!! I'm so exited for the parade!!!"

Mei said with a beaming smile on her face that you swore could rival the sun.. now that you mentioned it, both Mei and Mk had very bright smiles, the type of smiled that would make you feel happy

"Oh my god- You should celebrate new years with us [Y/n]!"

Mei said as she jumped around, exited at the idea of you celebrating with them, specially on a festival as special as the New Years! Maybe she could also snap a few pictures of everyone together and make it her new wallpaper.
