I walk along the path
Looking for a sign
And that's when I spot it
I pick up the pretty flower
Admiring all 5 of its petals
*pluck*
He loves me
I can hear it in the way he speaks to me
Hand-picked words wrapped
In tones of gentleness
His arms around me to protect me
*pluck*
He loves me not
He's lecturing me again
Planting ideas in my head
I think he's projecting his worries
I feel a need to protect him
*pluck*
He loves me
He said so himself
Why would he plant those words
If they were untrue?
I think I love him too
*pluck*
He loves me not
He's stressed about something
And I don't understand why
I must've done something wrong
I must apologize and make things better for him
*pluck*
He loves me
It's just a little complicated
But so is every relationship, right?
Who needs sun and water
When I have all I need to grow from my love
