𝓚𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓪 and Nick walked into the house confiscated by the LAPD to check-in with their supervisors. Kiera walked over to one of the officers at her computer.
"Where's Tanner?" Kiera asked
"The conference room." The officer replied
Kiera walked over to the conference room with Nick following her.
"Alright, Tanner. I want to see my daughter." Kiera said
"Kiera? Nick?" A voice asked
Kiera finally took a sweep of the room. Bilkins and Muse were there unsurprisingly, but Brian was a surprising new addition. Kiera chuckled.
"I knew something was off about you, I just couldn't pinpoint it." Kiera said
"Brian O'Conner meet Kiera Storm and I know that you already know Nick. Kiera and Nick have been undercover for the last six months." Tanner said
Brian turned to look at Bilkins.
"I thought you said the last two officers flipped." Brian said
Nick rolled his eyes and looked at Kiera.
"We miss one check-in and suddenly we've flipped." Nick said
He and Kiera chuckled humorlessly. Kiera turned back to Tanner.
"Where's Hope?" Kiera asked
"Muse, go get her." Tanner instructed
Muse walked off to get Kiera's daughter.
"Now let's get back to business." Bilkins said
Everyone sat down at the table.
"What did the last truck driver say?" Nick asked
"He gave us the same MO. Three Honda Civics, precision driving, the same green neon glow from under the chassis. Lab says the skid marks came back the same. Mashimoto ZX tires. So, we know that it's somebody in the street racing world." Tanner said
Muse walked back into the room with Hope, Kiera's four-year-old daughter, in his arms.
"Mommy!" Hope exclaimed
Kiera grabbed Hope from Muse's arms.
"Hi babygirl. I've missed you so much." Kiera said
Bilkins coughed and Kiera sat back down with Hope on her lap.
"We don't make this case soon the truckers will take matters into their own hands. I tell them we're close. You three gonna make me a liar?" Bilkins asked
"Look, what do we know?" Brian asked
He stood up.
"We all know this world revolves around Toretto, right? Now, I'm not saying that he's necessarily the one that's popping these trucks, but I can guarantee the both of you that he knows who is. It's just a matter of time until I win..." Brian started
"You want time, buy the magazine. We don't have time. Just get me something I can use." Bilkins said
Kiera rolled her eyes, not liking Bilkins' attitude. Tanner led Kiera, Nick, and Brian outside. Hope was walking next to Kiera, holding her hand.
"Is Harry cooperating?" Tanner asked
"Yeah, like a guy that's gonna do three to five for receiving stolen property if he doesn't." Brian answered
"What kind of vibe is he getting from Toretto?" Tanner asked
"He's scared to death of him, but he doesn't think he's jacking trucks in his spare time, either. He's too controlled for that." Brian said
The three stopped walking and Tanner turned to Brian.
"Wait. Not that I want to contradict Harry's fine judge of character, but Toretto did hard time for nearly beating a guy to death. He's got nitrous oxide in his blood and a gas tank for a brain. Do not turn your back on him. That goes for all three of you." Tanner said
He started to walk away, but Brian grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Hey, Tanner, I'm gonna need another car." Brian said
He walked off and Nick looked over at Kiera.
"We gotta go, Kiki. They're expecting us at the garage." Nick said
Kiera looked down at Hope.
"Do you have to go?" Hope asked
"Yeah, but I'll be back very, very soon." Kiera said
Hope frowned and Kiera pulled her into a hug.
"I love you, babygirl." Kiera said
"I love you, Mommy." Hope said
Kiera kissed her daughter's head before walking off with Nick.
