'What? Stay at your place?' I said with furrowed brows while standing up.

'Well yeah.' Brian shrugged.

'I don't have to Brian it's fine.'

'Where the fuck else are you gonna stay? On the porch? It's fine just get in the car.'

I turned back and looked my house one last time, unsure if I should agree to stay at Brians because I didn't want to be a burden but after thinking about the fact the only other option is actually to stay on the porch I realised staying at Brians was the only option of the two where I wouldn't get frostbite by the morning. I huffed before joining Brian who was already starting up the car.

'Sorry about this Bri. All you did is offer me a lift home now you're stuck with me for the night.' I mumbled while mentally cursing my dad for being such a useless prick and also myself for being stupid enough to forget my keys.

'Bri's new.'

'What?'

'I said Bri's new. You called me Bri.' He said while pulling out the car and heading back down the street the way we came.

'Did I? Didn't even realise I did that.'

'I mean it's fine. It's cute.' He smirked.

I was grateful the fact it's night time right now so the darkness in the car covered the pink tint in my cheeks.

'It really is fine though. I don't mind you staying the night. It's not like I could leave you to sleep on the porch.' He shrugged while unpausing his CD we had playing before we got out.

After around 15 minutes we pulled up to Brians. He led me to an apartment complex,

'My mom might be annoyed that I've got someone staying such short notice but she won't be mad if you've been locked out. She's still at work but she should get home at like 1:30.' He mumbled while unlocking the door and moving to the side to let me in first.

Brian's place was small but quite cosy. When you first went in you would instantly be in the living room which consisted of a small black leather sofa on a black rug in front of a wooden coffee table with a TV in front of that. The living room was connected to the kitchen area and on the other side of the living room was a corridor that supposedly led to the bathroom and bedrooms.

When I walked in I heard a little meow from a distance. I turned back to Brian with wide eyes and stopped moving in hope I would hear it again to make sure I heard it right.

'Do you have a cat!?'

'Yeah.' Brian mumbled while slumping his shoulder to let his backpack fall on the floor by the door.

'Shut the fuck up!' I grinned while looking around to try and find the cat. 'Where the fuck...' I mumbled to myself while looking from the sofa to under the small square table next to it.

Brian walked over to the window that was on the far end of the living room and pulled back the black curtain to reveal a black and white tuxedo cat that looked up at him and meowed again.

'Hi pippy.' He smiled while picking her up. She meowed again while resting her paws on his shoulder.

'Oh my god.' I mumbled with a pout. 'She's so fucking cute.'

I walked over to him and started stroking her under her chin. 'Never would have thought you to be a cat person.'

'Well I wasn't but my mom just randomly brought her home one day. I guess I am now.' He said while watching his fingers as he stroked down her back while she happily purred.
