The Intricies of English

Spring has yet to spring;
too many words spelled
the same in one world;
one spelling, with two meanings, however
it has only been a minute minute
since winter began. I am not content,

with the content of this winter.
Winter has become the object of everyone's conversation,
and I object.
If you ever read what you read
again, you are now me. When I read I end up rereading what
I just read while
trying to read. I bet most folk

reading right now will say:
"Excuse me there is no excuse for rereading!"

To that I say:
"I before E except...
When your foreign neighbor,
Keith, receives eight counterfeit
beige sleighs from feisty caffeine full
weightlifters. Is that not beyond weird?"

If you still haven't had
to reread what you read...
think about how every C in Pacific Ocean
is pronounced differently. But never forget

the great debate no matter the weather,
on whether data should be pronounced
data or it may be data.
