it was the last day of school right before summer break, everyone was watching the baseball game on the schools diamond. I would be playing with them but they don't want a girl to play baseball, so I just play softball, but I mostly run track. I love track.

it was the last inning in the game and we were all invested into the game and the sandlot was in the lead

the next batter was Benny Rodriguez. my best friend, almost all the girls were obsessed with him,which i dont get the point cause i dont see the hype, but that's not the point right now, but benny didn't care about if the other girls liked him he just cared about baseball

me and the sandlot were in the dugout as the pitcher threw the ball. Benny hits it all the way to left field. He ran too first base nd second then passed third, then everything stopped when the person on third base got the ball as benny goes back to third base.

"PICKLEE!" ham shouts

we all stood up as we ran near the diamond to cheer on benny while he goes back and forth from home base to 3rd.

they started to throw a bit slower and benny ran to home base and won the game!

we all run to benny and congratulate him. benny smilies but got even more happier when he saw me.

"you did good benny!" I said

"thanks, but you should have been playing with us" he said as he looked down at me

benny is 5'6 but Im not really even short im just like 5'1... well actually 5'3 in a half, but ill make et there some day but just trust the process.

"You know I couldn't but its whatever, plus track is better" I said

benny rolled his eyes and put his arm around my shoulder as we turned around to continue celebrating the victory with the rest of the boys.

me and benny were walking home while holding hands then some random boy moving in into the house across the street waved at us. Benny nodded his head at him while I just lightly smiled at him, then we continued walking

me and benny were neighbors so he just walked me to my house

"bye hermosa" benny said as he hugged me

I rolled my eyes

"bye benny" I laughed as I went inside my house while benny walked away toward his.

"DAD IM HOME!" I yelled as I walked in

"Selena don't yell im right here!" my step mom Larisa said

"I aint even talkin to you, I said dad not Larisa, puta" I said in a harsh tone as I went up to my room

"Hey come back here, what does puta mean?'' she asked but I ignored her and went to my room

my parents are divorced and live with my dad and stepmom, but my mom is latina, which makes me half, so that's the reason why I know Spanish but im not fluent, but I can still understand it. I like it cause benny is also Spanish so we can just talk to each other in Spanish

just as I was about to get to my room my weird step sister Olivia stopped me

"Hey, did you take my nail polish" she asked

"no" I said slowly "why would I need to take you nail polish?"

"I don't know im just asking you because its GONE!" she said

"well I don't care" I said as I slammed the door shut in her face

Olivia is such a girly girl, she's has blonde hair and she's just turned 17 like a month ago. and im pretty sure she is friends with Wendy peffercorn and all em I don't even know I just hate her but i dont have a problem with wendy, i actully really like her shes a nice girl.

"IF YOU HAVE MY NAIL POLISH I WILL KILL YOU!" she said from the other side of the door

"you not killin' shit on my fuckin soul" I mumbled as I got some fresh clothes from my closet and changed into them

I then sat down on my bed zoned out until my dad yelled my name

"Selena ima need you to come down here!" my father yelled

I rolled my eyes like what does he want now, I sighed as I got up to go to the kitchen

we were all sitting at the table eating dinner until Larisa spoke up

"so your guys father and I are going to Florida for vacation" She said

"Whatever" I said in a annoyed tone

"why can't we come!" Olivia asked

"because its a business trip and me and Selenas father need some alone time" she smiled "plus you and sel could work on your relationship!"

"WHAT" olive said "we will never like each other and she will just be ruining my whole entire summer!"

"its not like you will be ruining mine to with you asking me to do stuff for you because your lazy as hell" I said sternly

"Language!" my step mom said

"yeah but you act like a boy, you play baseball and other stuff your just unattractive "

"how am i unattractive when you have a 3D receding hair line AS A GIRL" I said getting quick with my come backs

I was honestly sick of her so I got up and went straight to my room and slammed the door shut

then I turned around to benny knocking on my window

I went over to my window and opened it

"Whats going on I heard a lot of yelling" benny asked

"my father and Larisa are going to Florida and Olivia just being a asshole like I wish she really would shut up" I said

benny chuckles "i guess i can understand that"

we then talk for a little while till I then turned around to look at the clock then back to look at benny

"you should probably go before someone comes in here and I get in trouble" I said

"but your parents know me!'' benny smiled

"uhh well you know what I mean" I laughed

"Oh and your still spending the night at my house tomorrow right?" benny asked

me and benny always had sleepovers maybe like once or twice a week or more ever since week ever since we were 4 years old

"yep!" I replied

"well ok see you tomorrow" benny said smiling

"adios!" I said as I felt my cheeks heating up wait.. am I blushing over benny

I closed my window shut and closed the curtains

I then laid in bed smiling to my self to the thought about benny, but no thats a bad thing! thats like actually my best friend I can't like him that would make things so weird plus why would he like me!? I let my mind drift off for the rest of the night till everything went black and I feel asleep.
