I got up to my alarm going off, I got up and changed my clothes and sprayed water in my hair before I brushed out my curly hair

"Selena, Bennys here" Larisa said while she stood in front of the door way

"ok?" I said "what time is it?"

"its 9am" she said

"oh shoot" I said as I rushed out my room till Olivia stopped me

"you know benny would probably prefer to see you in a dress" she said

"im about to play baseball....?" I said as I rolled my eyes

I went outside and closed the door to be met with a pare of hazel eyes

"finally I've been waiting like forever" benny said

"not too much Benjamin you literally wake up at like 3am in the morning. everyday" I said

"yeah yeah whatever lets just go" he said as he rolled his eyes

when we got to the sandlot. everyone was sitting at the dugout or doing whatever I don't know.

"woww, benny being late to the sandlot'' ham said

"it isn't my fault that sel was taking to long to get ready!" benny said

" yeah well you could've went without me" I said

"you sure you guys didn't suck face under a tree?" squints said

"yeah-yeah or maybe even f-" yeah-yeah said

''NO!" me and benny yelled in unison cutting yeah yeah off, but like not that I wouldn't.. WAIT WHATTT

"guys chill they wouldnt do that" kenny says defending us

benny rolled his eyes

"it doesn't matter" he said "base up"

everyone started walking and jogging away to their positions on the field

"benny" I said

"yeah?"

"let me bat with you, I just don't feel like playing infield right now" I said

"oh yeah, yeah sure'' he stuttered

benny went to home base while I just kinda stood there

"SQUINTS" benny shouts as he threw the baseball in the air and hit it with the bat

"I got it!" squints says as he caught the ball

"nice catch!" ham said

"yeah!" benny said

but there was the little white boy from yesterday in the back of the sandlot with a plastic mit

we then actually started to play and I got to bat first. I stepped onto home plate as everyone cheered me on

Kenny pitched the ball as I swung the bat and hit the ball. it made it all the way to out field headed for the kid with the plastic mit.

"LOOK OUTTTTTT!!" ham yelled

Burt it was to late and he got hit by the baseball witch caused him to fall

everyone in the sandlot but for me and benny started laughing

me and benny looked at each other then paid attention back to the situation

"ILL GET IT!" the kids yelled the hurried up to get the ball

when he got the ball and ran back to where he was originally standing at, and kinda just stood there

"WE ARE WAITING!" squints shouted

it was so silent and awkward. the kid then got it this weird position and threw the ball 2ft in front of himself

everyone started laughing but for benny, I giggled just a little bit... it was kinda of funny I can't even lie for real..

benny then looked at me but I didn't look back..

the boy then ran away out of the sandlot, it looked like he was about to cry. damn thats crazy tho

"Whatever man, lets just go back to playing ball.." I said to benny

(𝙰𝚝 𝙱𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚢𝚜 𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚎)

"benny, you know that kid that the boys were making fun of earlier" I asked benny

"yeah?" he asked

"well we should maybe invite him to the sandlot because he probably doesn't have friends! plus he just moved here yesterday" I said

"come on ma, the boys probably won't like it plus you and everyone else were also kind of laughing with them" he said

"yeah, yeah ok but you have gotta admit, it was kind of funny" I smiled

"yeah, I guess it kind of was" benny giggled

I already had clothes at Bennys house so we both already changed our clothes, but now we were both just laying on his bed. My head was on Bennys chest as he had one arm on my waist and the other in my curly hair. we sat in silence until benny spoke up

"ok so I've thought about it and we maybe can bring the kid to the sandlot tomorrow" he said

"you really mean it?'' I asked him as I smiled

"yeah" he said

"alright thats cool!" i said as i hugged him

he smiled then smiled at me and hugged me back

''I don't know about you but im gonna go to sleep" I said

"Same here" benny said as he turned off his lamp "good night Mendoza"

"Good night Rodriguez" I said before I fell asleep
