Mental illness is not an aesthetic.

It is not pretty or a privilege,
should not ever be wanted or craved.
You said you wanted it,
why?
What you think and what is true are two realities apart.
Because depression is not just being sad.
Anxiety is not just being nervous.
OCD is not just playing it safe.
PTSD is not just being scared.
Eating disorders are not just about loosing weight.
Mental illness is not something to desire.
It's not an excuse or a way out of things.
Mental illness is not a use to get what you want or be treated differently
Mental disorders are sickening
And behind closed doors, true reality lies.
Away from the pictures, the photos, the fake inception
The horror, the pain,
and the messy truth.

Mental illness is not an aesthetic.

So why would you ever want it?
