Melanie had been depressed as of lately. After just meeting a young man for the first time and spending time with him after the party held at the manor, she was barred by her father from going outside. The only time she could go outside is when she needed to get something for her mother and she would need to be guided by one of the servants of the house. She didn't understand it. Why could she not be happy? Why was father so protective of her that even if a man so slightly even moved close to speak with her, he would get defensive?
Melanie sighed as she looked out her bedroom window for a moment at the town below. Oh how she wished she could go out and just talk with people. She felt like a bird in a cage. When her father asked her to go get some more sewing material for her mother, she jumped at the chance to go out. Leaving without a servant, despite her father's instructions, she headed to the general store. She was looking through some fabric when she looked over to see you. "Oh hello, y/n....I'm sorry I cannot speak long..." she said sadly. "My father wants me back home after this..."
