Chapter Twelve

This is it? They would let me go so easily? I would consider this as a golden opportunity to start a new life. This time I will be independent and stronger physically and mentally. I will find a way of living somewhere in a small town of Goryeo Kingdom only. As much as I want to go back to sea town. My home. I just can't gather enough courage to go back there. If my life was a book then that part of my life is the chapter I don't want to open and read ever again. Now I want to write new chapters in my life.

I'm choosing me now. Fighting for myself.

I am packing my stuff, which don't include much just few clothes of mine and some hygienic products.

"How much more time will you take?" These guards want to throw me out of the castle as soon as possible. They got no patience.

"Just a second." As I am done with packing I gave a last glance to this room and exit it. They really don't trust me. Even after my innocence is proven guards are following me as if I'm gonna steal something. And these guards are really rude to me. A few minutes ago I tried asking them about Jungkook but they told me to 'mind my own business' almost shouting.

After exiting the servants block I stood there for a second looking in the direction of defence block where soldiers reside. I want to meet him for the last time and bid my final goodbye. "Keep moving." The guard shouted again. I sighed and continued with my walk.

Earlier, I was very determined to start a new life. But right now my concern is to eat something. God, I am starving. I am standing in front of a fruit shop but unlucky me, I don't have any money with me.

I looked at the sky as if God will pity me.

*thud* It seems like something fell. I looked in it's direction. There's a woman now crouching down to pick up the vegetables that fell from her bag. I instantly went towards her to help.

Once all the stuff is kept back in her bag I picked up that bag. It's heavy though. "Thank you child. God bless you." She smiled at me making me smile too.

"This is quite heavy ma'am. Do you want me to help you?" I asked her still holding that bag.

"It's fine. I will manage." She said and tried to take the bag from me and I let her. But she dropped it again. Before it could fell down and all the vegetables spilled out I got a tight hold on the bag. She is too old and weak for this. "I guess I need help." She said quite embarrassed. "My house isn't too far. This way."

I followed her in the streets of Seoul. "Do you live alone?" I asked out of curiosity.

"No. I live with my grandchildren." She replied. "All three of them were already busy, so I thought I will buy vegetables today and make dinner for them." I nodded. "Yes there." She pointed at a small house at the end of the street.

I kept the bag infront of her door.

"Um... do you know where is Commander Jeon's home?" I asked her hesitatingly.

"Huh?" She frowned. "Who are you?" She questioned me like I asked a very alienated question. "Don't you live in Seoul?"

"No. I came here for buying something that isn't available in my village." I lied to her because that would be safest right now.

"That's why you don't know."

"I don't know what?" I asked confused.

"That Commander is suspended of his post for 1 month. So he was supposed to leave Seoul." Is she joking? That's unbelievable. Like how and why?

"Why though?" I maintained a neutral expression on my face hiding my worries.

"Because he couldn't perform his duty well. Because of his carelessness our king almost got assassinated." I gasped. Audible enough that she noticed it too. "It was undigestable for everyone. He isn't the careless type of person. But his mistake was unforgivable."

"But suspension for one month isn't it too much?"

"That's not all. I heard rumors that he was misusing his powers too." I bet these all are lies. "He showed his true colors, after all his mother was a Silla royal. It was expected." I sighed and took a deep breath before I could snap back at her and get myself in more trouble.

"I am just curious. Can you tell me where is his house?" She told me the direction to his house and I followed it.

In just a week a lot of undigestable things has happened.

I knocked at the door of the house which that lady told me. No one answered so I knocked again. That's when I heard sound of footsteps coming towards the door.

Jungkook was the one who opened the door. As soon as I saw him I kept my bag on the ground and wrapped my arms around his neck. He stumbled back a little bit by my sudden action, but soon held himself straight.

"What happened? Are you fine?" He asked me almost in a whisper.

His right hand is on my back while his left hand is still holding on the door.

I unwrapped my arms and took a step back before replying him with another question "No, you tell me. Are you fine?" He didn't said anything just kept staring at me.

"Ari, I am so glad to see you." Jungkook's mother came with a smile and pushed Jungkook aside to hug me. The look on his face made me chuckle. Now he is glaring at me. "Come inside."

As I came inside their home his mother closed the door. I noticed the packed stuffs as if they were leaving already.

"What are you doing here? How did you find my house?" Jungkook asked and I told him everything. How King Namjoon ordered me to leave the castle, How I got to know all this and How i reached his home.

His mother told me if I was a few 30 minutes late, I wouldn't have met them. They were about to leave. He was planning to drop his mother to live with his paternal grandparents. While his mother was being stubborn to come along with him.

"It's final now. Eomma you will stay with grandpa and grandma while Ari you will leave from here as soon as possible." Jungkook tried to order us but I and unexpectedly his mother simultaneously said no. Jungkook looks frustrated now.

"Let me come with you. I don't have anywhere else to go." I told him.

"Yes, let her come with you. I don't trust you all alone you need someone's support." His mother backed up with a solid reason. "And then I will go to your grandparents, I will not be worried about you too much if Ari will stay with you."

"It's not a good idea at all. She will be kind of a burden on me. And it's my suspension not any of yours." He said trying to convince us.

"Excuse me? I won't be a burden. I can protect myself. I know how to fight." Yes I know how to fight maybe not too perfectly but I know. "And I don't care about who got suspended and who did not." 

"You don't know how to take care of yourself. You get too hard on yourself to prove yourself right. You even take stupid and dangerous decisions when you are angry. If not her then I will definitely come with you." Now Jungkook's mother is getting frustrated as much as him. Jungkook's low temper runs in his family I guess. I am just looking at both of them.

"No. You will stay with grandparents that's final. It will be dangerous and uncomfortable for you." Jungkook said more like commanded.

"Then it's final too, Ari will come with you." She said with the same authority as him. "I don't want to hear any other word." She showed him her index finger telling him not to say anything. He didn't argue any further.
