"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy"...Martin L. King Jr.

It was at precisely, 13:14 British Summer Time(BST). 24 hours after the appalling atrocities of the '9/11 bombings'...

He sat alone in the last carriage of the Eastbound Central Line tube-train to Epping.

The train's hum wrapped around his thoughts like a shroud. In his hand, a newspaper, unopened, screaming the horrors of yesterday.

People avoided eye contact, buried in their own worlds. The date of September 11th, the world irrevocably changed.

A man boarded, disheveled, nervous. He carried a backpack, clutched tightly like a dark secret. The traveler watched, an ominous feeling gnawing at his gut. A moral dilemma emerged. To confront or to stay silent?

The train lurched the man's grip tightened. The traveler hesitated, then made his deliberate choice, while shadows danced on the tunnel walls. The world held its breath.
