Steve and Soda came out to the gang on accident.
So basically, they were both working the shift at DX and they were like making out in the back room and then when Soda went to the counter to help a customer, it was the gang.
Unlucky Soda (having hickies all around his neck) helps them out when Dally asks, "What broad gave you those?" Panicked, Soda said he had been seeing somebody (Steve) and the gang thought nothing of it until they went out and saw Steve's neck also littered with hickies.
They get suspicious and decide, "We'll ask them when they get home!" So they wait until they get home and low and behold! More hickies!
Soda and Steve (oblivious to the fact of the gangs plan) sit down with the gang and goof off like they're just buddies. Until, Steve says this: "I wanna do something stupid." Which Soda replied, "I'm stupid do me!" The gang just sits there, jaw dropped.
Steve and Soda realize the gang is still there and are just like, "We can explain-" "We already figured that you two were probably dating. I guess we were right." Darry says with a chuckle.
So yeah they came out on ✨accident✨
