°•°•𝔏ucerys had separated himself from his siblings who were readying themselves to sail to kings landing , his parents had sat him down and talked to him about why the reason was they were to go back to the keep after many years°•°•

°•°•the golden eyed boy felt dread lace his veins as his legitimacy was to be questioned infront of many—and by none other than his own grand uncle. the boy had no heart to hate any no matter how cruel they were were him and called him many names all because of his appearance and how he doesn't have neither feature of both his parents°•°•

°•°•that always ate him up on the inside as he grew older and had deeper meaning on what those insults meant, and the insecurity and uncertainty slipped in though it gave him some comfort that he wasn't alone as his elder sister was to shamed upon for not having silver locks like their parents and other siblings no matter if jaelys had baratheon blood in her veins°•°•

°•°•he felt a connection with his sister and would find guidance by her whenever his mind made him think the worst, laenyra would always assure him that no matter what other thought of him—as long as he wasn't seen indifferently by their parents and the people they love, that was all that matters for they will always be on their side°•°•

°•°•luke sighed deeply as his finger circled the ingraved map with driftmark on it, he frowned lightly as he thought of the importance he has to take on once his much older°•°•

°•°•"luke" the boy lifted his head and saw both his parents walking in as concern was clear in their eyes , he mustered up a smile for them "there you are, we've been looking everywhere for you my sweet" rhaenyra said nearing her son°•°•

°•°•jaelys looked to the boy as she could clearly see the wheels turning beneath his eyes "luke ...no need to worry of what's about to occur once we arrive in kings landing, your mother and i will make sure this will never happen again" assured jaelys her son°•°•

°•°•luke turned his big golden eyes to the tall woman as sadness passed them "will grandsire ever return?" he asked°•°•

°•°•rhaenyra looked to jaelys before returning her gaze to him "we pray to the gods he returns soon, why do you ask?" luke sighed deeply looking back to the map "i don't think i'm ready to take on the title as lord of the tides ...i fear that others might see me as a freak who stole a true velaryons heritage rather than handing it to jaenys or jaenor—maybe even vaemond" the boy rambled anxiously°•°•

°•°•jaelys softened her gaze "yet your grandsire and i choose you as the next lord of the tides luke, you are worthy and a true velaryon to take upon this title. you are not what you see yourself as and others who utter ill towards you are nothing but envious on what a precious gift you are" said the tall woman softly with rhaenyra humming in agreement°•°•
