Chapter Twenty

"So it was Erik's father that told yours about the prophecy?"

Nyx nodded, "Yes, Erik's father is his deity side. He gets called on a lot for fortunes involving lives."

Raven nodded and Nyx continued, "Vampires are when a dirty and a demon have a child and it's actually pretty common around here."

Nyx sighed, "That brings me to why Erik works for me, you see, since his father told mine about my love being the one to outdo him, my father placed a curse on the baby to die at birth. So he always can find them and save them before they can die, and sets a protection spell on the household."

Raven was shocked, "So that's the story behind the day I was born, and why you've brought me here, were.. Soul mates?"

Nyx chuckled, "Yes we are." And she intertwined her fingers with Raven's.

"Oh and as to what you said earlier.."

Raven panicked, what did she say?

Nyx cupped her face, "I love you too."

Raven blushed and remembered another thing, "Have you been in my head before tonight?"

Nyx looked away before looking back, "Yes, your mind was so open to me, it really wasn't hard." She chuckled.

Raven asked, "Did you have anything to do with the dream I had?"

Nyx smiled mischievously, "The power over dreams comes from my mother, and yes I did, after that night I couldn't wait to have you."

Raven smiled and spent the remainder of the night asking Nyx some personal questions and having Nyx show her magic tricks.

With and without her hands...

The next morning Nyx insisted they spend breakfast in bed, which Raven did not protest to.

Fae delivered their food and winked at Raven knowingly while setting down the food, making her blush. Raven never felt more at home here and lived the company of the woman, Raven loved bringing it the playful side of Nyx.

Raven took a bit of jam on her finger and wiped it on Nyx nose, shock crossing Nyx's face.

"Raven!" She gasped out and Raven took off to the other side of the room.

"Oh no you don't!" Nyx said, chasing after the girl.

Raven was quick but no match for a vampire as Nyx caught her in her arms. Both of them giggling and enjoying each other's company.

"I meant to ask you, may I write to my parents?"

"Of course you may, I have all you need in the library."

The two women helped each other get dressed and made their way to the library. Once there, Nyx waited over to the desk and set up some paper with ink and quill for Raven to write with.

"Thank you." She said to Nyx.

"I'll be over here if you need anything else."

Nyx grabbed a book and her glasses off the desk and sat on the couch in front of the fireplace.

Raven loved those glasses..

She shook her head and thought as moment before getting the ink and quill ready.

Dear Mother and Father,

I have arrived safely at this new place, I've met some new people and I'm..

Raven thought.

.. Happy. I do hope everything is going well at home, has Robin started school? I have to wonder about Viktor and of course Luna, what became of her after I left?

The master of this place is a wonderful person and I want you to know I'm truly doing well.

Raven glances at Nyx and smiles.

I've never been happier, I miss you all dearly.
