The young adult male walked, the dark sky loomed over him like an endless abyss. The snow-moonlit rays cast a hauntingly beautiful glow on his caramel skin, causing the clouds above to appear faintly white. In the distance, a grey pit bull's constant barking echoed through the stillness, its paws clattering against a silver chain-link fence. The flickering of the bright orange streetlight added to the noise, its constant buzz causing his face to twist up in irritation. With each step, the flat soles of his low-top black Converse met the cold concrete with a resounding thud.

Leon strolled aimlessly down the sidewalk, lost in thought after his talk with Franklin. The job of peddling goods to his people and being Franklin's bodyguard was finally behind him. Although he and Franklin remained good friends, Leon's mind was distracted with someone else entirely - his dear friend Sanaa.

Sanaa and Leon's friendship blossomed when they first met through Wanda, who used to be Sanaa's closest friend until addiction took hold of her. Together, the two friends tried to help Wanda overcome her drug habit, but it was a difficult battle. Despite the setbacks, Leon refused to give up on her. When Wanda was rushed to the hospital, Leon reached out to Sanaa and she hurried to his side, taking a seat in the gray cushioned armchair next to him as they sat by Wanda's bedside.

Sanaa observed the longing glances he threw toward Wanda, she placed a consoling hand on his back, hoping to relieve his pain as he leaned against her shoulder. Despite her ease of forgiveness, he persisted in blaming himself and offering apologies that he couldn't bring himself to accept.

Although Leon and Wanda weren't dating at the time, Sanaa felt that it was not the right time to express her feelings for Leon, given the chaos surrounding them. Eventually, Wanda got her life together, and Sanaa and Leon were happy for her. Sanaa thanked Leon for his unwavering support and for paying the expenses of Wanda's recovery.

Sanaa planted a kiss on his cheek in appreciation, Leon felt his heart skip a beat. He reminisced about the moments when Sanaa stood by his side and was grateful for her companionship. When Wanda announced her decision to move away from South Central, Los Angeles, in search of a better life, Leon and Sanaa wished her all the best.

The piercing bark of a grey pit bulldog echoed through the air, Leon lifted his head in response. A wide grin immediately spread across his face as he recognized the familiar pooch - Juno, Sanaa's beloved dog. Without hesitation, the canine leaped onto Leon's knees, earning a light chuckle from the man.

Squatting down to Juno's level, Leon greeted her with affection. "Long time no see, Juno. you've been a good girl for Sanaa?" he asked, his hand gently stroking her fur. The devoted dog let out a soft whine in response, and Leon hummed appreciatively. As he continued to pet her, his thumb slowly caressed the top of Juno's head.
