Lux's POV

"I'm Abby and you may not know me but I'm your Aunt." She explains.

My aunt? As far as I know I don't have an aunt, that's what social services told me, that's what my parents told me.

After Abby dropped that bomb of information, there was a silence that followed.

During the long silence I could see Jen coming over to us.

"Lux what's going on here?" Jen asks with concern in her voice.

"Mom, this is Abby my Aunt." I answer.

"Mom? Your Lux's Mom?" Abby asks in disappointment.

Once I introduce them both I get hit with realization.

"If you're my aunt how come I've never heard of you before now?" I ask skeptically.

"I see that your mother never spoke about me?" She asks.

"No, she never mentioned that she had a sister." I reply.

"Well let me explain." She begins.

"A long time ago before you were born, your mother and I got into a huge fight. I don't want to go into the details, but lets just say that we both did some bad things to each other." She continues to tell with tears in her eyes.

"And after that we stopped speaking other than a Christmas card she would send every year with your picture in it."

"That's horrible." Jen says from behind me.

"I never knew..." I say after she finishes.

"I regret it, everything I've done to
her. After I heard about the accident I never forgave myself for not making a mends with Cate."

"Wait if you knew about the accident why didn't you take me, social services told me I had no relatives?" I ask her feeling the anger rise in me.

"When they called me to ask if I wanted you, I wasn't..." She trails off.

"I wasn't ready to become in charge of you! I can barely take care of myself. Though, now that I see you I realize that it was a mistake not taking you in." She explains as she reaches out to touch my face but I move away before she can.

"No! You don't get to come to the realization that giving up your sisters daughter was a mistake 5 years after the accident!" I yell at her with emotions rushing out of me.

"Lux, calm down." Jared says as he reaches for my hand to calm me.

"No! I don't want to calm down!" I say as I pull my hand away.

"You let me be in foster care for 5 years before visiting me or even just trying to get in contact!"

"I know that I what I did wasn't right, but I want to make it up to you!" She tries to apologize.

"No you don't get to make things right with me, I just want to go home. I don't want to see you right now." I say as my anger begins to be replaced by sadness.

"Okay c'mon Jared, Scott, Lux lets go home now." She says as she puts an arm around me and guides us back to her car.

As we walk away I can hear Abby yelling from behind us.

"Lux no come back! Im sorry! Please!" She attempts to tell me.

Once we all reach Jens car, Jen gets into the drivers seat and starts the engine.

"Jared, I am so sorry you and Scott had to see that." I apologize to him while looking at the ground.

He puts his finger under my chin and tilts my head up from the ground.

"Hey, don't apologize it wasn't your fault." He reassures me.

I give him a weak smile.

"Are you kay Lux?" I hear Scott ask me.

I squat down to his level and answer him.

"I'm okay Scott! I will be at least." I answer semi truthfully.

"Okay good bye guys! I'll see you tomorrow." I say climbing into the car.

"Bye" Jared says.

"B-Bye Lux!" I hear Scott say as happy as can be.

Oh no what's going to happen!

I'm so sorry I didn't update yesterday I've just been in a real bad writers slump.
