Mario VS Donkey Kong

Mario is walking down a dark corridor and into the Ring of Kong. Peach, Rosy, and Toad sit beside Cranky Kong, anxiously watching. Rosy was biting her lip as Donkey Kong, Cranky Kong's son, exited the chamber on the other side.

Mario exhales and cringes at the skinny bridges he stands on as Donkey Kong shows off in front of the crowd, rhythmically, "I am DK. I'm Donkey Kong. Oh, yeah! Hi, Dad! Hi!" He turns and waves at Cranky Kong, who doesn't approve of what Donkey Kong is doing.

"No, no! Don't do that!"

"Dad, wave back!"

"Enough with the showboating!" Cranky Kong growls. Donkey Kong gestures to the crowd, "What do you mean? They like it! It's what they came here for! Dancing pecs!" Cranky Kong calls out to his son and the crowd, "Okay, simmer down. I said, simmer down!"

"DK! DK!" Cranky Kong adverts his eyes to Diddy Kong, "That means you, Diddy Kong!"

"D-- Sorry."

Cranky Kong nods his head at the silence of the arena, "Now, since I want this fight to last more than five seconds, I put power-ups around the arena. You're welcome, Mario." Mario glances around to see boxes and '?' boxes around the area. Donkey Kong grips his knuckles with a growl, "I don't need anything special to break every bone in your tiny body!"

Mario laughs nervously and exhales, "All right." He charges at Donkey Kong, but the gorilla grabs Mario's face and punches him. Rosy flinches as Peach gasps, "Oh!" Toad closes his eyes and turns his head away, "Oh, my-- Okay."

Cranky Kong holds a drink and grins at Peach, "Guess you're not getting my army!" Rosy glares at the monkey, making him flinch. Donkey Kong punches Mario once more before throwing him across the bridge, "Is this what you came for?!"

Mario grips the sides, trying not to slide off. Once he got on his feet, DK turned to Cranky Kong, "Hi, Dad! Love you!" He turns to see Mario running up to him, "It is on like Donkey Kong!" As DK slams his fist down, Mario dodges it and hits a power-up box behind Donkey Kong.

A blue mushroom comes out and lands in his hands, "You're about to pick on someone your own size." Rosy gasps as Mario sticks it in his mouth, "Mario! No!" Mario's body begins to shimmer as he charges at Donkey Kong, only to realize he has shrunk. Donkey Kong starts laughing; then, a severe look crosses his face.

"I guess he got the wrong mushroom." Cranky Kong mutters just as DK pounds against Mario. Peach stood up from her seat, "Get up, Mario!" Rosy stood up, her eyes glazing over and her eyes locked on a box.

"Had enough?" DK taunts.

"Not... even... close."

Rosy calls out to Mario as he is punched and flung in the air, and points to a box up above him, "Mario!" Mario sees it as he falls, but starts jumping on the platforms to get to it, "It's-a-me..."

Rosy shouts, "The box!" Mario gets to the top and hits it. A flash of light from the power-up blinds everyone for a moment, then Mario lands in front of DK. Rosy and Peach stare at Mario, then at each other.

Toad giggles, "He looks adorable." Peach chuckles, "He really does." Rosy covers her mouth, hiding the smile. Mario looks down to see that he is in a cat costume, "Oh, wha-- I'm a cat?!" Donkey Kong snorts, "You got the cat box! Oh, my-- Ah! Oh, I'm sorry... I'm sorry. Okay... Now you die."

Mario seems to get an idea, "I'm a cat!" DK charges at Mario, making him hiss and dodge the hit. After a few dodges, Mario swipes at DK, scratching his cheek. A growl escapes the giant ape, but Mario doesn't stop. He attacked DK, getting him dizzy. Mario stops as DK collapses to the ground.

"Meow."

Toad cheers, "Woo-hoo!"

Mario stands up and looks at DK. "Had enough?" DK slowly stands up, "Not... even... close." Donkey Kong begins to topple back off the bridge, but Mario grabs him by the tie, "I'll take that as a yes." Donkey Kong falls forward, and Mario leaps onto him.

"Yes! That's my best friend!" Toad jumps up as Rosy cheers and the Kongs chant, "Mario! Mario! Mario!" Peach smirks at Cranky Kong. "Yeah, yeah..." Cranky Kong returns the grin. Rosy laughs as Mario stands proudly at the approval of the Kongs.
