Anne awoke to the unwelcome arrival of the next day. She felt a small sense of disappointment when she opened her eyes and realized that the day before, which had been so good, had come to an end.

As she got off the private jet, she tried not to fuss over it too much, knowing that all good things must come to an end eventually, even if she didn't want them to. it was an unfortunate part of life that everyone had to experience.

Anne was drawn out of her thoughts by the sensation of her girlfriend's hand gently sliding into hers. She met their eyes and felt her breath catch in her throat when they smiled at her.

"When are we going to see your parents' restaurant? I've been dying to go there since you first mentioned it." Marcy asked, resisting the urge to jump in placer and instead squeezing Anne's hand.

Anne felt slightly flustered and struggled to form words which made Marcy send her a playful smile and say, "Don't think I forgot about that, cupcake."

Anne's heart swelled with warmth at the sound of Marcy's nickname for her, a blush overtaking her cheeks as she took a deep breath. "I don't know, maybe we can go sometime this week?"

Marcy's smile widened as she squeezed Anne's hand. "That sounds perfect," She said. "I can't wait to try your parents' cooking. I bet it's amazing!"

Anne felt a sense of relief that Marcy was looking forward to the visit, which might've been just her overthinking but she had been nervous about introducing Marcy to her parents, even if she knew that Marcy was the one for her and that her parents would love her just as much as she did.

Just as Anne was about to voice her thoughts, she felt a faint vibration from her pocket, which made her fish out her phone with her free hand, a frown making its way onto her face upon seeing a message from her manager.

Initially, she had thought the message could be related to the news that Marcy's manager, Dan, had conveyed to them earlier. How Marcy's sponsorship had ended, and that being the reason they were back in Los Angelos.

The message read: 'I'd like to have a meeting with you as soon as possible, apologies for it being so soon after your arrival but we have business to discuss.'

Anne let out a quiet groan of annoyance after she read the text, gently letting go of Marcy's hand to respond to the message as she mustered up a professional and polite attitude to respond. Once she was done, she put her phone away with a displeased expression on her face.

Marcy discreetly observed the girl, unsure if she should question what the situation was, but Anne's sudden grim mood did concern her, so she figured it'd be better to ask.

"Are you okay?"

The sound of Marcy's voice made Anne look up, seeing the sympathy inside them made a swarm of emotions bubble up inside her, but she pushed them away.

"Huh? Yeah! Yeah, I'm okay. I just- hoped that maybe things would go back to normal when we came here but... seems like that's too much to ask for." Anne muttered, lightly kicking a pebble near them.

Marcy noticed Anne's disheartened state and placed both hands on her cheeks, firmly turning her face to make eye contact.

Once they locked eyes, Anne was left starstruck and stupefied, her breath taken away as she the lights around them seemed to dance off of Marcy's head, while the sun was a million colors of hazel, golden and red, like their love. Marcy always looked pretty in Anne's eyes, but the way she was trying to lift her spirits up at the moment, made her all the more gorgeous.

"Hey, don't worry," Marcy said, gently. "We'll make the most of our time. We'll find something fun to do, I promise."

Anne's heart swelled, and she felt a smile growing on her face.

She wrapped her arms around Marcy, pulling her close and burying her face in her hair. It caught Marcy by surprise, but they wrapped their arms around their girlfriend as Anne muttered, "I love you," into Marcy's hair, making Marcy's smile widen as she pulled her closer.

"I love you too," She whispered, her voice soft and gentle as she lovingly gazed at her girlfriend.

Anne geld Marcy tighter, feeling joyous for the love she had found and they stayed like that for as long as they could, wrapped up in each other's arms, enjoying the comfort of their affection and company.

Until Anne's phone vibrated again, forcing them to pull away as she checked what Zane had texted.

'Don't stress over your luggage, I'm sure your 'girlfriend' will take it for you, if not, I'll just have one of my employers do it, just get here as soon as you can. And I mean it when I say AS SOON as you can, Anne.'

Anne scoffed, but knew to follow his instructions and turned to Marcy with an apologetic look on her face.

"My manager wants to see me again, I don't get him sometimes, it's now like I kicked some paparazzi and their camera. I mean, what does he want me to do? Buy them a burrito and thank a paparazzi for being 'one of the good ones'? Yeah, I'm not doing that." Anne said, going off on a small tangent.

"I'm sure everything'll be fine, Anne. I'll deal with your things, just try not to do anything rash, okay?" Marcy said, placing a small kiss on Anne's cheek before going back into the jet to collect her girlfriends things.

Anne sighed, gripping the phone in her hand before putting it away and heading for the nearest coffee shop, she needed the caffeine anyways, even if she knew Zane would be angry if he knew about her detour, she didn't care.

He'd be angry anyways.

To be continued...
