Bird Lover's Day

My old plan changed today.

My life, me only, not to share.

I go about shopping for one.

I turned around and a woman was singing there.

"Nice song" I said "you sing well".

Then, her eyes sang to me.

I sang along, "Amie what you wanna do?"

"My name's Amie too" she sang "what you wanna do?"

"You tell me" I sang "spend the day with you".

She laughed.

Her eyes locked on mine.

Today that plans for two.

We walked and talked and had a coffee.

Then strolled into the zoo.

Two birds were in a cage.

Perched close, they seemed as one.

"Are they love birds?" she asked.

"Yes" I said "I must be a bird".

"My old plan I think is gone".

"A lonely bird's no fun" she said "I'll be the other one".

My old plan changed today, strolling through the zoo.

No more just one lonely bird, now love birds we are too.
