IN HISTORY CLASS Mr. Matthews held a big present with colorful polka dots and a pretty pink bow on top in his hands. It made Juliet wonder what antics the man was up to now.
But part of her was intrigued and wanted what was inside and the other part of her knew it was a trick.o
"Ancient Greece-" Mr. Matthews said.
"What that? What that that." Riley asked eagerly.
He pointed to the color box, "What thi-this? This is a present." He said.
"Is it for me?" Riley asked.
"What's your game, Matthews." Juliet asked suspiciously.
"Game? I mean no game. I just want to know who here wants this present." Mr. Matthews asked.
Everyone raised their hand except for Maya who sat there twirling a strand of her blonde hair and Juliet who looked around the room avoiding the box.
"Oh, Maya and Juliet, what? You assume by playing hard to get I'm gonna give it to you?" He asked.
"Well, yes. That's one of the many arrows in my quiver." Maya said.
"Mediaeval talk – What are you doing to me, women? Farkle spoke.
"And I'm not playing hard to get, I just don't care." Juliet said to him even though she knew she was lying.
"Riley." He said placing the box on her desk.
"Yay!" She said excitedly opening the box.
Juliet swiftly stood up from her chair, "Woah there Chuckles the Clown. Why does Riley get it?" She said abruptly having all eyes on her.
She left out apfft sound quickly sitting back down, "I mean, whatever. I don't care." She said trying to seem nonchalant.
"The Trogon Horse?" Riley asked reading the words on the mini chalkboard.
