It was a beautiful day in the city, the sun was shining on a warm summer afternoon as MK walked into Pigsy's Noodles after finishing up a delivery. Pigsy was in the kitchen while Tang was sitting where he usually sat eating a bowl of noodles, with Mei looking at her phone. Sandy was drinking tea with Mo on his shoulder as he sat at the same table with a pregnant Chyou, dressed in a cream-colored maxi dress with her brown cardigan, and Macaque, with Red Son and Chenguang, sitting at the table next to theirs. MK smiled because to him this was how things were supposed to be, no saving the city, no demons trying to fight him, just MK and his friends enjoying a nice peaceful day. It would be perfect if they weren't missing a certain someone.

"Hey MK," Pigsy came out of the kitchen, "you finish all your deliveries?"

"Yes Pigsy," MK nodded with a smile, "fastest delivery run yet?"

"Good." Pigsy nodded before heading back to the kitchen.

"Hey MK," Chyou put her tea down, "have you seen Wukong? He hasn't stopped by for a few days."

"Now that you mention it," MK rubbed his chin, "I haven't seen or heard from Monkey King either. I hope he's o--"

The sudden crash from outside alerted them, MK and Mei were the first ones outside, and the first ones ready for a fight, if what had caused the crash was a threat. Standing in a carter in the middle of the road was Wukong.

"Monkey King!" MK exclaimed with a smile. "You're back! It's so good--"

MK's beaming smile dropped when he realized something was off. Wukong's head was down and a dark brown cloak that was torn at the bottom covered the majority of his body.

"Monkey King?" MK's excitement turned to confusion and concern. "A-Are you okay?"

Wukong lifted his head to reveal slight to his successor the slight bruising on his face, most likely from a battle and the dark circles under his eyes let MK know he hadn't been sleeping.

"Kid," Wukong's voice was hoarse, "I--"

Wukong fell to his knees with a hiss of pain.

"M-Monkey King!" MK exclaimed running over to his mentor.

It was at this point, Pigsy and Tang poked his head out to see what was going on. Only to find that MK was helping an injured Wukong into the shop. MK had Wukong's arm over his shoulder, while the other one was under the cloak, appearing to hold his side.

"Sandy," Pigsy called out, "get the first-aid kit!"

The others gasped in shock, at the sight of Wukong. Chenguang gave up her chair, so MK could sit him down, just in time as Sandy came back with the first-aid kit in his hands.

"Where does it hurt Monkey King?" Sandy looked concerned.

"Don't worry about me right now," Wukong groaned, "I need to know if he is okay."

"Who's okay?" Mei asked, holding a roll of bandages.

It was then Wukong got quiet again, looking down at the floor, with the others becoming more worried.

"Wukong," Macaque's voice had a hint of warning to it, "who are you talking about?"

"Let me show you." Those were the only words Wukong said.

Wukong undid the clasp on his ripped cloak, letting it fall to the shop's floor. Wukong wasn't holding his side in pain, he wasn't holding his side at all; in his arm, was a newborn baby monkey that looked nearly identical to Wukong, dressed in a red cloth diaper, was what had been under to cloak.

" I'd like you to meet Tao...," a small appeared on the monkey's face, "...my son."

Everyone was so shocked; Tang was so shocked by the news, he fainted, hitting the shop floor hard.

"Wukong, what do you mean he's your son," Macaque was trying to comprehend what he just said, "how did this even happen?"

As Wukong and Macaque had their conversation, Sandy and Mei were in the background trying to wake Tang up from his sudden fainting.

"I don't know," Wukong sighed, "the short version is I owed a favor to someone in the Celestial Realm and had one of the Celestial fairies help. I needed to turn a rock into something with my powers and the next thing I knew Tao was crying in my arms."

Pigsy looked at him with disbelief. "So, you just took the kid and left?"

"Of course not!" Wukong sounded offended. "When Tao appeared, she vanished. I spent days in the Celestial Realm looking for her and when I did find her, she didn't want o to hear what I had to say. Now I--"

Wukong cut himself off by letting out a heavy sigh as he hung his head. "I just don't know what to do."

Wukong looked down at the sleeping cub. "I can't abandon him, but I know I have too much on my plate with training MK."

Pigsy put a hand on his shoulder. "Take it from me, raising a kid isn't easy but you aren't going to do this alone."

"Pigsy's right," MK jumped in, "if you ever need help, we'll be there!"

Wukong was still nervous about raising a child, but his friends were offering to help, and that made him feel a little better. Wukong was cut off by the Tang letting out a loud shocked gasp as he woke up from his fainting spell.

"WHAT HAPPENED!?" Tang yelled out.

"You fainted?" Red Son looked unamused.

"Oh, that's it," Tang adjusted his glasses as he let out a sigh of relief, "I had the strangest dream, Monkey had shown up with a--"

Tang looked visibly freaked out when he saw Wukong holding a baby.

"Hey," Wukong said nonchalantly with a wave.

"IT WASN'T A DREAM!?" Tang shrieked out, before fainting again with a loud thud.

"What are you going to do now?" Chyou slowly got up from her chair with her husband's help.

"I don't know," Wukong sighed with a smile.

"You can figure that out later, but first...," Pigsy placed a bowl of noodles next to Wukong, "you need to eat something."

"I can hold him for you," Sandy offered.

Wukong seemed reluctant to give Sandy his son at first, but he knew Sandy wouldn't hurt a fly, so he silently handed Tao over to Sandy. While he ate his noodles the others, took turns admiring the baby, that fit in the palm of Sandy's hands. It made Wukong smile, he knew raising a kid wasn't going to be easy, but a least he has help.
