I opened my eyes to the dark room I was in. but wait..how did i get here? This is my room, where are the others? I sat up and walked into the other rooms but they were empty and there was a letter on the counter. I opened the letter and read it..it was in a very neat handwriting, so small to where I almost couldn't read it.

Good morning Shadow. I see you've found out that you are alone and that the others are not here You see..I have your friends in slightly..let's say this..not safe situations. Anyways..check your phone and you'll find one of your friends has texted you..good luck Shadow. Also..everytime you fail to save one of your friends, the day restarts. You have such little time Shadow..better find them all before I get tired of watching you suffer. Sincerely, Your closest enemy.

So it wasn't a nightmare..I went to grab my phone and sure enough, there was a message from Rouge. I opened it and there was a riddle. /a high island, a stand for a diamond.. Shimmering green..but covered in red. Where am I?/ “What the fuck?'' I read over the message again until I realized. “The master emerald? She's there!” I grabbed my bag and ran over to the emerald. Once I got there I realized that it was empty and then I noticed that the city was empty..there's nobody there, and not like there were no mobians here..but there were no animals either..it was oddly quiet and I felt a chill run down my spine. “Rouge? Rouge answer me! Where are you?” no response. I kept moving throughout the place but found no clues of my friend..at least until I saw a piece of fabric stuck on a branch. It was part of her jacket. And then there was a loud crash that echoed. I flinched and ran towards the noise until I saw her. Her hair was matted and stained red in spots, makeup stained her face. Her usual sultry voice was full of pure fear and terror. The vines that held her over the edge of angel island were covered in thorns, digging into her skin as blood flowed down her arms and onto her clothing. Her usual turquoise eyes had lost the spark of life that I once knew, they were glossed over with tears when she saw me. “Shadow..?” her voice cracked and she tried to free herself from the vines but they just stuck into her skin deeper. I chaos controlled over there and climbed the tree where the vines were and she looked even worse. Bruises were on her skin and there were cuts everywhere. Dirt and mud was caked onto her and her tights were ripped and skin was red in spots. I raised my hand as bright energy shimmered from my wrists. Using a chaos spear to free her. She began to fall and I jumped out of the tree to catch her. “You okay?” she groaned in pain and held onto me weakly. “Let's get you to the hospital” then i remembered that there was nobody there. “Or atleast see if there's anything we can find to help you. Okay rouge?” I said but there was no response. “Rouge?” Rouge was unconscious in my arms and breathing heavily. I began to run as fast as I could while trying not to damage or jolt her too badly in my arms. We made it to the hospital and I ran into one of the rooms and laid rouge onto the bed, then went to grab some bandages and other supplies. “Please be okay rouge..” I had begun to cry.

Rouge pov

I woke up in a bright room, my entire body hurting as I writhed in pain when I sat up. “How did I even get here..last I knew I was hanging by a vine..off a cliff..and then there was a voice..it was a shadow. ‘Where is he by the way?’ I thought to myself and tried to get up. I yelped in pain as I felt my wings. It had holes and the white sheets under me were dark red. I was lost in my thoughts until I heard a deep voice. “Sit down.” Shadow looked at me. And oh my god he looked horrible. His quills were covered in sticks and blood stains on his clothes. His rings were dirty and the bracelets were covered in dirt. His eyeliner was smeared and he looked like he was crying. “S-shadow what happened to you..? You look horrible!” he just wiped her face which put blood on her cheek and she walked to me. “I saved you. I ran you all the way here for an entire day and a night. You would've died if I didn't make it in time. I brought you here so I could at least try and clean your wounds. Now sit still and don't move.” I laid back down and he started cleaning my wounds. Pulling thorns out of my skin. Which by the way hurt like hell. “Ow! Shadow be gentle!” he just looked at me with an annoyed expression and grumbled. “Okay..okay sorry.” Thirty minutes later he finally finished and I stood up and hugged him. “Thank you shadow. I know I can be a handful at times but I really appreciate you a lot. Shadie froze and hugged back, breaking down into tears. “I thought I was gonna lose you..I still don't know where the others are and I can't help but try and make it seem like everything is fine when it's not fine and I'm trying to help the others but I don't even know where they are. I just feel so..so..” Shadow stopped talking, his voice dropping down to a soft whimper. “So helpless? Like you don't know what to do now?” I answered and my gaze softened. He nodded and calmed down. “I'm gonna help you. They're my friends as well, Shadow.” I said, letting go of him. “But your wounds and you can't even fly-” I cut him off. “Wounds aren't going to stop me, you know. Now get up and let's go home. We need to go get ready.” she nodded and we walked out of the hospital. After a few minutes we came across an abandoned car. But it wasn't any car. The car was a metallic red with green and yellow accents. I recognized it immediately. “Knuckie…” we ran towards the car with hope of a message or something, but were met with bloody quills and shredded fabric. A picture of Rouge and Knuckles was ripped in half and there was a note on the floorboard. “So you found Rouge. How lovely. But now..where is Knuckles? All you know is he's in pain..and Rouge..you look so much better wounded.” I looked at the note in horror as Shadow looked over my shoulder. Then it all went black
